You're not helping, you're making it worse.

Not getting into beta next week is what you are pissed off about. He was suggesting several ways that you still might get a beta key right now from for free.

If you QQ more about not having a key and haven't actually checked to see if those web promotions are still active.. sucks to be you.

Quite the opposite, PGI pushing back open beta was more than a good thing, it was savior for MWO! Had they released to the world next week, you'd see not just a few, but thousands of upset MWO fans out there who probably won't come back. MWO is near unplayable for many many people right now. It's not ready for everyone yet, but it's getting there.

You are right though, there are a lot of other free games for you to enjoy right now. And when MWO goes open beta/release, you'll be back to try it out and will enjoy it much more than you would have than if MWO went open beta right now. It is probably a good idea to go play some other games and come back when MWO is ready, so you, and thousands of others, get a good first impression.

You just joined today dude...

Fill out the beta form and you'll be in beta by tomorrow....

It's basically open beta already since practically everyone is getting invites

Lord Orion, don't be pissed, trust me, if you got into the open beta they way it is now, you would CERTAINLY change your attention to another game. trust me buddy, it will be worth the wait. the decision to push back the open beta shows that the devs are more worried about making an awesome game than to rip us off of our money, like so many publishers do. (diablo 3 or dragon age 2 ring a bell to anyone?)

TBH, I feel kinda sorry for whoever was responsible for telling their boss that the product is not ready for open beta yet, so all the hype and annoncements will have to be rolled back somehow.

Think about it for a moment, decisions like that, big products going into open beta, are never made on a whim. A lot of machinery, marketing and otherise, must've been put to a sudden stop just as the message was sent that the gane won't be ready on time.

This must be a nightmare for some people at PGI.

Yeah.. PGI should've known better and not announced it in the first place. Better yet, they shoulda asked the closed beta community first whether the game is ready for open beta with a poll or something. Then announce open beta when the general consensus of closed beta community thinks it is ready.

This ones been floating around for nearly a month.

If you've not been able to play it's not because the dev's are evil and keeping you out, it's because you've not figured out how to use google.

Edit; Of course, it's entirely possible they don't have any more keys, but I see nothing to indicate that.

Funny, cause i've made about 10 other accounts and they all have access and got their access less than 24 hours after I filled out the app.

This is good news. Finally a developer who knows their product isn't ready for many more to play because of problems. I commend you guys, since many others just launch knowing of problems, but only care about the bottom line. Thanks for caring. ;)

I'm very glad to see such a reasoned and understanding response to the open beta announcement. I understand how it is upsetting to fans, especially those who are not part of the closed beta, to see a game they've been looking forward to for quite some time delayed. Still, the developers are in the process of addressing some serious issues, and if the game were to launch on the original date, many of these would probably not be resolved.

To those who are looking forward to the open beta, I say please continue to be patient, and support the devs while they work to make sure the game is functional and polished. I'd rather have a good game later than a mediocre game right now.

A lot of us been waiting almost 10 years for a new mechwarrior game. Think we can wait a few weeks to make sure everything is just right for all warriors to enjoy it fully. Way to go admins and game developers.

I've always liked Battletech.

I want to like MWO. I wanted to buy a Founder's pack, maybe even Legendary.

But I can't. The controls are sluggish and numb, for lack of a better word. I feel totally disconnected from the mech. There's no way to get a sense of where you are or what's going on; it's almost claustrophobic. It feels like a bad FPS from a decade ago.

Then go play them. There were serious issues that needed to be addressed before the floodgates were opened. There and were tons of places and avenues to get into beta. Has not been that difficult if you did your homework.

"tamala can't go home yet" (c) tamala 2010
guess we just need to wait some more. waited for like 10 years - not like we cant afford some month or 2 to see game truly go "open" beta.

Since you are NOT in the beta I can tell you, as I am sure others would, that the game is simply not ready for Open Beta.
Chill out, knock back a few brews and wait a few weeks.

Well i must say i was dissapointed to find out that the release date was moved back from "summer". I figured there must have been issues, so i decided to buy a founders package. So i bought one for me, my nephew, my neice, my brother, my other brother (different mothers and fathers). i would suggest if you want to express dissapointment, buy a founders package. Any founders package.

support things you like with your actions and choose your words carefully. D3 was destroyed in the forums........
By pushing the date back the developers will have the ability to fix some of the more serious problems that have cropped up in the last patch or so.

i beta tested many games, nothing worse than going open beta when you create your character, log in and run into your first battle and a lag spike hits, you wake up dead.... or your character falls through the ground..... or you spawn in a mountain....... you enter your first dungeon, fight all the way to the end, but can not compleate because the quest is bugged.... go into pvp and find out that there is a bug where your health pots dont work, you fire once and deplete all your ammo...........

i beta tested many games, and early open beta can cause major problems with the player base, especially first time players who are not familiar with any of the other games or table top versions.

they need money to have people program, do graphic design, advertising and such.
you just gotta understand that there are no magical programming fairys........

i would like to thank all those responsible for creating this game. i have been waiting many years for it.

thanks

Lord Orion: If you had been watching this game a while and had signed up to the forums earlier then you would already be in the beta, there was a mailing list error about a month ago where they accidentally sent tester only information to everyone registered so made everyone registered a beta tester.

The game isn't likely to be delayed more than 2 weeks,The main issue was the stability of the new engine and I get the impression that as soon as that is sorted it will be ready to go open. Balance is less of an issue.

I completely agree with this statement. Look at what happened with Red Orchestra 2. They released the game too early, and it had dozens of holes and map traps. As a result their following was insulted and they lost A lot of followers because of the Beta Reset and huge balancing and programming issues. Especially these days with everyone angry and the Gaming industry for skimping on their programmers. Plus there isn't much variety, and no one wants a game without a shop function. So take it easy, they will get through this. However, they do need the Beta Testers to reply issues on their forums, it will speed up the process.

No one wants to play a broken, empty game. Remember why Legend of Zelda Ocarina of time was so popular? It's because it was programmed well and had little bugs in it, not because of the intense story or graphics.
