Hey!

I know this is the wrong forum but people should know this. I am sure there is a bunch of new players who haven´t heard of this... but Mechwarrior 4 Mercs is free to download at www.mektek.net. It has its own comfortable installer and a lot of new content with the addons called "MekPaks" made by the mektek.net team.

Give it a try and get yourself combat ready!

I tried getting this the other day. I installed the downloader, but the list of games that I can download was empty. Now I don't know if was doing something wrong or what. Maybe I will attempt again tonight

There is a problem that says that your Downloader is in "Offline Mode". But there is a solution in the forums aswell as the possibility to download it "by hand" without the Downloader.

Don't recommend it. MTX ruined the free download, IMO.

But thats not a reason not to play it? o.O I mean... if you don´t like MTX you can still install, download and update it the way you used to do. o.O

MTX is just optional and nothing besides a downloader.

Maybe some of you haven't heard yet: The Steiner campaign is still UNGODLY hard.

Did they think it was FUNNY having a stealth mission when playing for the Lyrans?

Hehehehe... theres no good game without a decent reason for nerdrage and ragequits... but hey. It was just one mission. But what kind of a mission. Stealth with mechs? Seriously?

I still think MW4 is the worst of the series. Even the fact that it is free isn't enough for me to play it again. Especially online.

Brixx i still play on the mektek server but lets be honest Mektek Fucdddddddddd uppppppppp by not making a simple .EXE download to install the game on and update the game..It takes 2 trained monkeys and a donkey to use Clickteam or make a simple installer & updater.Now dont get me wrong i still support them becouse of what a good job they have done with some of the mods but that does not excuse there lack of insight on how to install and update a game and take care of there core fans.

I just don´t fully understand the trouble people do have with the MTX downloader. In my case it was: "Select game -> Download and Install -> Update -> Play". That is just 4 clicks. Thats not more than STEAM for example.

Well brixx you were one of the lucky ones MTX was just a mess took me 5 times to get the game installed then it would not update along with all the virus problems and all my friends went through the same thing multiple drops on the MTX servers till you pulled your own hair out.But hey its live and learn.

Oh... I did not know that the problems occured that often, sorry. :-/ For me and my friends it worked out fine. It just took a while but I am used to waiting when it comes to MechWarrior anyway.

MTX actually did work perfectly for me. The only problems I have is I cannot get MW4 to work online.
