Which book was that?

If I remember correctly the german version of „Warrior: Coupé“ had the same ad in it.
Just as the Kell Hounds walked trough the desert towards the Genyosha that was assembled to watch the duel between that Kell Hound 3rd Batallion Captain (forgot his name :)) and the commander of the 2nd Sword of Light.... I think it was the 2nd.

Oh... a fellow german that also made this strange experience. Looks like my memory totally fooled me on this one. :D

I remember, I think it was Captain Dan Allard vs. the Banshee pilot who was the regimental leader, one vs one, and the Genyosha had just arrived and they let the battle play out. Then it came down to Kurita vs. Kell.

Aaaaah, yeah, mistake on my part. It was the other way around.
The Genyosha was walking towards the Kell Hounds where KH 3rd Battalion Captain something Bradley (in a Zeus?) was duelling the Kurita commander (who was in a Banshee).
The whole scene was told from the sight of Akira Brahe, Genyosha Rasalhaque Company.

I'd check the book myself now, but I'm at work which makes that kinda impossible :)

I don't have my books anymore but I'm pretty sure that is how it played out.

Better yet - Make ingame billboard designs a vanity item normal players can purchase for their matches! I'm willing to bet there'll be more players lining up to make a "suck it, Trebek!", or "I'm more awesome than you!" billboard than people who need the actual advertising. Should be subject to approval, of course.

Also might provide a cheap way to get some word out about indie title X, for those who happen to play the game.

Sounds good to me. Can't wait for the first mech online proposal... Bloodpack will you marry me.

...i think corprate adds are a great idea. I'd drink a beer that pays for me to play...

During a load screen, I would rather see an ad (as long as it's not a ****** video that is going to be blowing up my eardrums) than see one of those "tips to piloting/driving/fighting" screens as in say Need For Speed. Those tick me off to no end.

Sure I would love to see ads in this game, as long as the are explicitly for Catalyst Game lab :)
