sadly the code doesn't seem to work in europe, only US and canada.

Use this link:
http://store.origin.com/?ipr=ty

Then try. According to the directions in the Reddit post, this link works supposedly for those outside of North America

Aye ...
I already have the Steam and Impulse clients ... don´t need yet another one .... especially not one which caused such an uproar in germany because of its EULA which allowed EA to massively intrude user privacy (well, they reformulated it for germany after the shitstorm it caused initially ... but, well, the damage with regards to trust is done :P ).

Well, my abstinence from origin forces me to forego Mass Effect 3, Sim City and, it seems, also the weather/seasons expansion for Sims 3, which I would have bought under other circumstances ... but hey, so be it ... it isn´t as if I don´t already have enough other games that I can play ... via Steam, Impulse or even *gasp* normal CD/DVD :D

Where does this code actually come from?
From what i'm reading around the internet, ppl are massively abusing it right now, getting like 8 games per account.
Don't really think EA intended this.
I'm a little bit afraid to use this code, because if you f*ck with EA's money, they will probably f*ck you. hard.
I have a few games i bought on my origin account, and i don't want to have it banned because of some abuse clause somewhere in the EULA.

slickdeals.net, as I said earlier. And you do raise a good point... That said, they'd be banning a LOT of people... Which would cause thousands of internet screams, as the website is being pounded at the moment, and that would bring bad PR.

More than likely, if I were to guess, if there were a correction, they'd probably just remove all of the free ones after your first order. But who knows, it's EA.

Bulletstorm is also a great choice because it's a pain in the *** to pirate!

Really? I played a torrented version of it months ago. Worked just fine. I'm surprised PGI doesn't censor the word "pirate".

Someone said they got Warhead but I just tried & I'm in Canada & it said invalid code. So maybe it was only good for the 13th? I don't have Origin installed, nor would I install it, but according to the websites I was looking at you just put it in your cart & enter the code. From what Rad said I'm probably a bit too late. No matter, I'll get it someday. :P

Thanks for the info Festus.

Looks like it's over.

Glad a few people managed to get in on this.

Yep. According to Twitter it ended around when I posted.

Some people weren't able to load... I was able to get in I imagine since I'm in California, which probably has local priority access to their servers. Missed a lot of Saturday Night Live, sadly.

Nothing is actually free from EA, what with Origin required on almost everything going forward -- installing spyware on your computer is pretty costly no matter what the pricetag on the box says.

Personally, I think EA sucks and I'm boycotting them until they seriously change their ways. Their execs continue to spew out complete crap and they lie to their customers. Not to mention, they kill game servers for games even if they aren't that old (in some cases, less than a year old game will lose its game server, yes even for console games).

Because of this, I'll gladly take money from EA by getting a free game. They will never receive a dime from me though.

Free stuff from EA?

IMHO it's like the chemical waste industry gives away samples for free.

And the need to have origin is even worse. Free stuff from the chemical waste industry with a free surveillance camera in your living room.

No thanks.
