Would it be possible that when the game is released, and future patches, that everything is able to be saved so I can burn to cd's?

With multiple computers, and the occasional reformat or system restore. It would be nice just to load up a cd and install everything quickly, rather then to have to go threw long download times. Or fight my wife to see who is going to get to play first.

Assuming 3 to 5 gig download, it does take some time to get things installed. Not everyone has lightning connections.

Thank you in advance.

What's the last online game you played that would even fit onto a DVD, let alone a CD? Unless you want 10 of them (which makes splitting them such a pain/time sink you might as well just DL them again).

Now if they made DVD's available with the client for those with slower ISPs that might be nice.

cd's, dvd, flash drive, external hard dirve, 3.5 floppy. Whatever type of medium. Dont' take me saying cd in OP as an end all be all statement.

Just saying, it would be a great time saver for the ability to save the instal files to ease future use.

I'd pay for a DVD to be sent to me, I always like to have a hard copy as backup. But it has been mentioned the game will be only available as a download.

Aim for 4 GB on a USB stick and it would be about perfect. I would love for it to be distributable via torrent as well, if at all possible.

man you guys drive me crazy sometimes
the OP is not asking anything about CD's or DVD's specifically

he just wants to know if he can drag and drop the game instead of downloading it 2+ times
while im not a Dev im pretty sure the answer is yes,
you will be able to download the game and transfer it to other PC's on your network
(just like you would any other file, like photos or movies)
on launch day you should only need to copy the installer across and you will be in business

worst case scenario is after the game has been out for some time and several patches
you would need to run the installer, delete the folder and replace it with an updated version,
let it run the patcher to check files and your away
however thats worst case, most games will simply let you move the entire instillation around
for example i have not "installed" starcraft2 since it came out,
i just stash it on my server when im over it and copy it back across later (i have reinstalled windows several times since)
it will patch and i play, unlike the days of old where if any thing moved that was order for a full reinstall

If a boxed set with the installation DVD, a bit of bonus ingame currency and some other goodie (e.g. urbie bobblehead) was sold, I'd buy that.

Also, it would be nice if you could take downloaded patches and burn them to CD/DVD, so you can promt the installer/patcher to the files you've saved when (re-)installing the game later/on another comp. Kind of like a 'build your own service pack' kind of deal...

you can do this with at least one AAA MMO on the market now. I agree, it's a nice option to have.
