Why is there no option for "none?"

I never liked the clans.

Ghost Bear

Now is the time
To prove
What we know to be true:
That we shall conquer all.

<- Inner Sphere Wolf.

Gee, wonder on whose side I could be. :)

And the ilKhan give us his final words,
Charging us to protect those
With whom we found refuge in our time of need.
In this, our final duty, we shall not fail.

- The Rembrance (Clan Wolf-in-Exile), Passage 411, Verse 16, Lines 1-4

This conforms with the speech sent out by the Great Kerensky before his departure.

To all citizens of the Inner Sphere, do I, Aleksandr Kerensky send greetings.

"Know that I have taken the remnant of the Star League Defense Force which has remained true to its purpose beyond the boundaries of the Inner Sphere, beyond the Periphery. I have done this, neither out of disappointment with those whom we leave behind, nor out of spite or disdain, as some will say.

No, we have left the Inner Sphere because we love it too much to see it destroyed. In the wake of the Usurper's coup, and the long, bitter fighting that came with it, I fear that my forces would do incalculable, possibly irreparable, harm to our society. We are sworn to ward the Star League and its subjects, not destroy it.

"Thus, we have left the only homes we have ever known to place the destructive capability of this armada beyond the reach of those who would use it, not for defense, but for conquest. Perhaps, with the might of our 'Mechs and ships out of reach, the leaders who now grapple with one another will relinquish their dreams of subjugating their neighbors and learn to live in peace with them.

"Perhaps, one day, should mankind step back from the brink of the abyss, we, our children, or our children's children will return, to once more serve and protect and guide the Star League in mankind's quest for the stars."

"Farewell."

Warden Wolves all the way!

Funny that as of this posting, no one has chose Steel Vipers yet. Given what happens to that clan down the road....

I protect the people of the star league not the denizens of the tyrannts who rule with autonomy, insulated from the people they pretend to rule for, nay they rule for themselves.

"Then Warrior Hazen grew cold,
Watching noble DeChevalier die.
She heard her mind whisper
Urging her to fly.
To forget her duty.
But with defiant cry
Proud Turkina dove
From the realm of death
To seize Hazen's heart
And shake it free of fear
Leaving pure her soul
And her duty clear."
Passage 8, Verse 36, Lines 58-66 (Clan Jade Falcon)

wow, people would chose a Clan that dies in 3060 over one that dies in 3076... go figure. Oh and Warden Wolf all the way! Just because I like their random 'mech table over the Bears (but the bears are cool, too once they started going Warden)

It is only logical that so many of my fellow brethren would come forth to such a call...

Hey Volt...obviously you know nothing of honor or pride...JAGUARS FOREVER!

Also sorry, anything after 3067 just is not canon...

Its okay, you can have your clans. Ill be chilling in the IS with my C-Bills till you show up. And when you do, youll give me more opportunities to make said C-Bills. Hope you all have fun with city fights that are 3v1, I dont see too many suicidal mechwarriors trying to meet you on open ground or in even numbers willingly.

I made my choice from the clans available, but truly I would be Clan Wolverine(aka The Minnesota Tribe). Let's see how many know this peice of Battletech lore. :)
