I know this is listed somewhere, but I decided to just come and ask on the forums. I've been fairly inactive for the past couple of months, due in large part to the fact that I am working with my own dev team on a game. However, I just saw an interview with the president of Piranha games, and heard that they were inviting people to an open beta on the forums.

Can anyone give me a brief rundown of the specifics?

Open Beta is not supposed to happen until summer from what i understand.

I'm afraid at this time there are no obvious details on this and the mods are making a habit of locking these topics down.
I'm sure we'll know as soon as this is happening, and I'd imagine any beta invitations are being sent privately to NDA-bound trusted members, if at all.

Well, looks like they going for a more Guild Wars live team approach. So the game will always be "open beta" i.e regularly released updates on skills, weapons, maps, missions, etc. When that happens is when that happens. IBL!

If you're referring to the game I'm currently working on, I have some of the details posted on our moddb page.

We're aiming for a Q1 2013 release, and it will be made in the source engine. But I've said enough, I doubt the MWO mods will appreciate me discussing my own game on their forums.

The video has mentioned invites for friends and family CLOSED beta. Open Beta is not til the summer of this year.
