Right Now, there are 5 kits available:

From me (BMC):
Cougar Omnimech
Inner Sphere Hunchback

From Agent Cooper:
Locust
Hollander
Panther

All are in 1/60 scale and range in height from about 5.5" to 8." They are designed to be in the same scale as the old Armorcast kits. Funds from the sale of the Cougars and Hunchback are going to go towards paying off my medical bills...even with insurance, cancer costs lots to deal with.

So buy one and show us what it should be detailed like. I will say that is one critique I have never had. Which mech could use more detail?

Sorry, Panther is gone. Still got a few of the others though. Thanx for mentioning it.

No need to get defensive (I don't think he was bashing, could be wrong though, lol). I will say most of them are very well detailed, in some areas maybe TOO true to the TROs (not the fault of the modeler, just saying that some of the chosen mechs could use a little aesthetic help). That said, the Hunchback, at least in the photo posted IS lacking in detail compared to the rest. Cougar and Locust look great though.

I dont understand... these are kits.. why are we talking LACK of anything? I thought that was the point? Its a Model you build it mod it, paint it and put it on the table?

Often certain details are left out of the master because they would get lost in the casting and molding process and it ends up looking worse than if you just left it off in the first place.
Many builders of garage kits like these would rather have a blank slate to mod and add to as they see fit.

Details are always tricky.

Home kits are made of resin which is poured into a silicone mould which can result in small bubbles in the solid part esp. around small edges where surface tension can't be broken. (even pressure/vacuum casting can't make a 100% perfect copy). Resin also doesn't replicate small parts that well which is why allot of the small production companies use puter for small parts.

A commercial plastic kit say from games workshop/tamyia are totally different kettle of fish. The models are designed on a 3d/CAD and broken down into perfectly fitting sub assemblies with a CNC'd negative metal moulds (ensuring zero distortion) and the larger produced as clam shells. The plastic is injected into the mould and a high temperature forcing the air to expand and travel out of the vents replicating every tiny detail. The plastic is also very strong compared to resin the fine details are far less likely to break

Also details are in the eye of the beholder.

I'm a minimalist myself less is more, sutble details. Where some like the christmas tree look.. :)

Wish I could buy some from you, but our Rand is such a poor unit to trade with, but I do want to wish all the best and I may you have lots of sales to help you cope with the bills.

Boy howdy. The kits are very reasonable over all, but I have a feeling, due to the time invested and such, unless one knew there was a ready market, that the cost out of pocket for a fresh commission would be somewhat out of reach. I would wonder if there are enough takers on certain units, like my Marauder to get "pre-orders" were I to get you a 3D render to model it from? That might be something I need to investigate.

I'm not bashing or anything,i do allot of 3d modeling and have done a few models over with metals and such so they just seem a bit lacking in detail from my viewpoint.

Overall they are pretty good,i guess i just overdo my models when it comes to details (going into internals and such to match the externals)
