Hello fellow Davions, I created this forum as a place to state what sort of technology and equipment should be available to the AFFS in MWO. As you know, the New Avalon Institute of Science is responsible for many of the technological achievements in the Inner Sphere ( on par with many clan tech) and is the most prestigious place in the Federated Suns. Describe whatever, mechs, equipments and vehicles you would like here.

Personally I would like House Davion to have:

Rotary Autocannons
LBX
possible X-pulse but I believe that conflicts with the timeline

and for God's sake the Uziel

Rotary Autocannons-Early 3060's
LBX-Lostech reintroduced to IS mechs in 3058 (IIRC)
Uziel-Early 3060's

Lostech and other military advances in IS mech designs pre-Clan Invasion are already pretty much canon. It will be up to the devs to decide how they want to introduce IS ER laser tech and other such technology, especially in comparison to their Clan equivalents.

Sorry to break it to you, but ALL of those things are very much out of timeline (when it comes to them being widespread enough for us lowly line soldiers to get them, at least). Double-checking Sarna, you will have to wait:
  • About 10 years for Rotary Autocannons to be available, and a little longer for them to be widespread
  • About a year or two for the LB 10-X AC to be widespread (they are available as of 3035, or 14 years ago in-game; however, they are very rare and expensive. Also, not Davion-specific - most of the Successor States got the data from copies of the Helm Memory Core); ~9 years for any of the other classes of LBX-AC to even be available, let alone common
  • About 8 years for X-Pulse lasers to be available, and a bit longer before they are at all common
  • And, of course, about EIGHTEEN years for the Uziel to be created.
IF faction-specific equipment were introduced (it won't be, though - from what I understand, the devs are making everything equally available), the only thing I can see being available just to the Federated Commonwealth at launch (Don't forget, the Federated Suns haven't split off yet) MIGHT be Triple Strength Myomer - and in this hypothetical situation, that would almost certainly be restricted to only "Elite" pilots.

The Federated Suns possesses LBX by 3035, but I think they didn't mass produce them until 3058. That doesn't mean however, that they shouldn't have them. They can be elite weapons

The LB-X AC-10 and Ultra AC-5 were rediscovered by, and made available to, the IS in 3035, with the other LB-X and Ultra AC models being developed in the late 3050s from reverse-engineering of captured Clan examples.
They're also much more expensive than the Standard models - 400,000 c-bills for a LB-X AC-10 vs 200,000 c-bills for a Standard AC-10, and 200,000 c-bills for a UAC-5 vs 125,000 c-bills for a Standard AC-5.
LB-X ammo is 2-3x more expensive than standard AC ammo.
UAC ammo is 2x more expensive than standard AC ammo.

RACs aren't canonically available until 3062.
HVACs aren't canonically available until 3059 and are developed by the Capellans.
LACs existed as prototypes in 3058, but didn't go into production until 3068.
Most of the more impressive special munitions for Standard ACs aren't available until the mid-3050s.

The Battleaxe and Hammerhands were age of war mechs that both got replaced by the Warhammer. They are not timeline appropriate as they are obsolete.

I love marauders, but they've been around forever so they arent exactly cutting edge to the inner sphere
