I don't play the games, but when I'm coding, there's alwasy TouHou music in the background.
Here's a few versions of Bad Apple, originally from Lotus Land Wars
www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3C-VevI36s (Shadow Art)
www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKwv0iGaeOc (Lasers)
www.youtube.com/watch?v=dx76YPgZviE (Traditional Japanese Music Style)
www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTWJnfVJpQw (Traditional with Lyrics and Dance)
www.youtube.com/watch?v=240Vq6tIxio (Cut Motion)
www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSz00lTjeyU (Cut Motion with an Apple,.... )
www.youtube.com/watch?v=tj1sotOR5cg (Full version)
And that is just one song, before getting too deep into the remixes and the remixes of the remixes and the new versions that are then remixed.
Here's another I like www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzII25cAADg Soul or Rouge
Seems like the music from each game inspires a series of songs adapted from the in-game music, all with kinda their own vibe. Fun stuff.

Example:
I think this is the most glaring one I've ever seen but it stuck with me. You can see the player's hitbox is completely inside of the red orbs during the fight, and they still aren't taking any damage.
I really like the music, and the geometric designs of attacks are pretty, but I just don't really like the gameplay of tohou. : /

Even then I quickly got devoured by Melty Blood and BlazBlue.

Oddly enough, I'm more interested in sifting through the music (Bad Apple was what got me hooked, after all) than playing the actual games. EDIT: And bugging other people about it.
Still, dabbled around in Ten Desires (maybe I should get back to beating stage 4...) and Imperishable Night (just practice for now...)

By this, I mean without using continues.
And Bad Apple is hardly the nicest Touhou song out there... there's plenty more where that came from.

Reimu Hakurei - Maiden's Capriccio

And much, much more...

In some way the image does match up with the hitbox because the outside edge of those red orbs is a different color than the inside. The outside are a non-damaging vision obscuring area and the inside is death area.
Imagine instead if they were shooting some sort of 'blackhole balls' that had a dark non-damaging vision-obscuring ring around a purple 'black hole', would you be okay with that? Because this is essentially the same thing, only with light instead of darkness being the obscuring factor.
So, we linking 2hu music now?
I've been listening to this recently:
