Hey now, one of the variants has one energy hardpoint in the CT and one in the arm.

hmm they made Venom mechs Witch are the spider slightly changed and made by a different manufacturer that copied the originals. The thing is they made more then 1 variant of it. http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Venom

Honestly, the Venom needs to simply be a variant of the Spider. not Strictly Cannon, but its a huge issue to me that you can't make elite in some mechs right now.

I guess its the SDR-7M. Endosteel, Ferro Fibrous and Medium Pulse Lasers instead of the standard Mediums.

Hardpoint-wise, the Spider can be the worst addition to MWO. They will really need to add some hardpoints to the side torsos or this mech simply won't work.

i have an honest question. and i may have been asked before but what are the premiss of the infomation on the mechs? they useing the books from tabletop?

i remember when i used to play i didnt haev restriction on what weapon can go where ( other then wieght)

SDR-5D - x1 Medium Laser (CT), x1 Flamer (RA)
SDR-5K - x1 Medium Laser (CT), x2 Machine Guns (LA, RA)
SDR-5V - x2 Medium Lasers (CT, CT)
SDR-7M - x2 Medium Pulse Lasers (CT, CT) {not available until 3051}

I would guess that the opening post is referring to the development and future deployment of the -7M...

There is another possibility - rather than the 30-ton Spider or a variant thereof, perhaps the opening post is referring to the 35-ton Venom (armed with two Medium Pulse Lasers in each side-torso)?
