1) Forest is a horrible map that allows no freedom for light mechs. From one spawn you can either go left into the OPEN water and die, or you can go right and watch all their assault mechs pour out of the the weird rock opening and die. From the other its pretty much the same thing only replace watch their assaults come of rocks to see them all sitting on that first "island" of rocks able to see every approach... and then you die. Light mechs have no place on that map.
2) Flamers need a serious buff. I used 4 of them with mega heat sinks (looking for exploits, but thats our job

3) Communication. At a glance I would like to be able to hit tab and see the mech type of my allies. At the start of the match with a bunch of strangers I would like to know the approximate composition of our force without having to have everyone say what they are driving (especially since only 3 players ever tell you, yeah for pubs). I'm not so stupid as to believe that strat will actually come out in pub battles, but its a nice thought. Its easier to plan when you know what your resources are. Similarly it would be great to set up a comm line with only certain players. The assaults dont care what grid we puny lights are moving into and should not be distracted with that info. We are trying to make an amazing game with huge capabilities... maybe have radio channels and a way to switch in and out of them? An all talk, a team talk, and 3 lance channels? The 3 lance channels you have to be in to see, with t and y giving you the ability to still insta talk to the other methods? Trying to think of a useless key that could be easily convertered to lance channel rotation... maybe L-cntrl R? Spitballing here.
4) I will be a puriah for sure for this but... Your point is to make money. We get that. Seriously increase the C-bill cost of mechs. An Atlas for 9 mil? Inflation had better take hold for them to cost the 30 mil we expect by the clan wars. My actual point is that if I do not buy any mechs but one light mech, I can afford an atlas in a week. 2 weeks if I suck. Thats something to build to, not be handed for nothing. If, at the same time, you lower the cash cost of the mechs, you will be FAR more likely to get money handed to you. Currently I can pick between a small amount for months of premium, or a huge amount for one mech. You guys plan on having tons of mechs so lowering the cash cost will make lazy investors just buy them.
5) Speaking of cost, the repair/rearm costs are a joke (in c-bills of course). Currently, no matter how stupid I play, the cost of repairing my mech is basically non-existant. If it seriously undercuts my profits to have to repair it, I may actually be forced to use a bit of strategy to keep the thing alive. Or I can be a crappy player that is just perpetually broke. You say this may drive off players... but losing players that can't play will only keep your good (spending) audience happier. Crappy players don't spend money (usually). If the costs are just this low for the beta so that I can test more stuff, I can get behind that. Would be easier to just hand us a wad of c-bills though.
I hope I didn't offend anyone, that was not my goal. I love BattleTech and am seriously invested in the success of this game (as weird as that sounds). I plan on playing for as long as this thing is functional and I want it to be amazing. Let the trolling begin!
