Is anyone intrested in forming a gaming group under this unit?

I do not think devs would like that idea. I think they wanted to make sure noone will use canon units, but my memory may be flawed. I will try to find that, or wait till someone proves it. If neither of these is true, however, I wish you the best of luck.

EDIT: Looking good, I have not found any evidence of my previous statement.

Me thinks the Death Commandos will be one of the units a player can "unlock" with a certain amount of loyality points.

I, as nothing more than a simple citizen and servant to the capellan state, would never allow myself to indulge in the insolence of dreaming to be part of the death commandos, for they are not only the most efficient tool of our chancellor, being the elite of the elite, no, they are far more, namely, the most honored and capable defenders of the capellan people.

Surely, I take them as an inspiration, an ideal role model of what a capellan citizen is able to become with hard training and dedication.

But, being one of them?

No, I am not worthy of such honors (yet).

(OOC: With Romano as our current leader, joining the death commandos would ensure you experience interesting times. I do not think I would enjoy that.)

The devs have said that teh names of (some) famous cannon units will be reserved for NPC type activities and house controled units. *snears at Gray Death Legion and laughs*

Imagine how bad it would be if they didn't reserve famous units? You would have some 12 year old be the first to press the "create Merc unit" button and use the Name "Death Commandos". Or it could be taken by a clan of Bronies! lol

Oh, the Death Commandos. There's a reason you wear a skull when you join them, you know. You have to assume you're already dead, that you literally gave your life in service to the state ahead of time. At least, that's the easiest way to think about it when you're thrown into the most impossible situations humans could possibly attempt to survive (or just simply impossible situations nobody could survive).

Hope such units as Death Commandos along with best warrior houses would not be available to creation or even easy-to-join. Calling yourself elite house unit requires something more that just willing. I believe, Death Commandos will be part of faction unit ranking system - at very top of the ladder, actually. Hope Liao elite troops will be really elite.

One should think long and hard when considering to carry this banner, for it is a heavy burden to be the best.

I do love the death commandos greatly, but I also know that they are literally, the best, the toughest, the meanest, and deadliest mechwarriors that the capellan confederation has to offer.. they are the best of the best.. To be inducted into their ranks is to count yourself amongst the honoured fallen and to give up your earthly body for the chancellor and for the confederation. Nothing less would be accepted. I couldn't see them being allowable units straight off.. but earning your way into them, that's something else entirely. And a reason to be feared by the rest of the mechwarriors out there.. =)

I sincerely hope that Death Commandos membership will be available for top-rated loyal Liao players in a form of faction standing reward. I'd really like to prove my right to join them on the battlefield.
