I'm a mobile app developer and might consider something like this. I've also been toying with the idea of making an app that allows you to build your mech on your phone, similar to the MWO Mech Bay app.

Windows Phone requires a dev license. I believe it is $99 per year(checked a very long time ago) and allows you to deploy 10 free apps to the marketplace with unlimited paid apps.

They may have lowered this cost to promote windows phone 8 and the windows 8 OS.

A nice simple web api would work with some options to retrieve XML data. However, they would have to put some limitations in place so noone spams the system.

Would never want to fully expose my DB to the web :-/

What you say is true for Windows Phone development, $99 a year (I haven't seen any discount for Windows 8 release yet).

As for the API, I don't know the best way to provide the DB access to the public, but they wouldn't need to fully expose their main "whatever" DB to the public. They could simply make a DB separate and specifically for exposing API's for whatever they choose. It'd be easy to do by creating a SQL (or other DB program) job that copies over the tables that save the info they want to expose.

That would be accessible only for registered and active mwo users, so no worries about spam. Web api would be great.

I'm waiting for a version of MWO Stat Lab for android. Don't need more than that.

Server Status and Patch (or NO-Patch B) ) notes would be nice too (perhaps RSS).

How about a countdown timer to tick off till your next schedueld match.. (it would help certain people not be late XD)

Here's a shout out for a Blackberry Playbook / BB10 Port. B) Even an android conversion would be fine.

Skip the legacy OS7 if you want - it's the IN thing to do at the moment.

I'd be content with mobile forum support.... As much as I agree that MWO could benefit from mobile support apps, I more agree with that PGI should concentrate 100% on the core game.
