I found it very odd that the gauss rifle was introduced before double heat sinks. See given one of the biggest issues inner sphere mechs have is heat the gauss becomes an amazing addition. it also becomes a dominant weapon for larger mechs where heat is a critical quantity. Mechs with less heat issues do better.

This leaves mechs like the dragon woefully undergunned since its lay out won't do well since its current chassis favors energy weapons in terms of upgrading.

Now when you add in double heat sinks... the dragon, awesome and other energy boat or any speedier mech becomes much more deadly.

With double heat sinks you could go twin ER Large lasers in a dragon and it becomes a completely different mech.

Why am i saying this? I want my double heat sinks and I want gauss cats to suffer.. death is too easy for them (said in a bane modulated voice).
