I'm no professional sound or video editor by any stretch, but I put some time aside to adjust a few things in the original MW:O trailer to hopefully appease those who missed the old startup sequence with a slight edit using the old MW2 computer voice that I tweaked a little. I couldn't get her to sound exactly like the new one though but again, I'm no expert.

I also took the liberty to fix that music skip at the start of the trailer that I downloaded (it bothered me a little) and I souped up the rock and roll with a little more bass and treble along with a louder slam and echo on the doors closing (you probably won't notice). :(

So hopefully this will tide you over for now. This one is for you guys. All systems are now nominal. Enjoy! ;)

My internet is freaking slow today and it took me an awhile to upload the trailer. Also took me a couple of hours cutting and merging the sound clips as well as adjusting the pitch/bass/etc. If this is in the wrong forum, feel free to move it to the appropriate place and my apologies in advance if this should have been posted elsewhere. :D

this is the short version. the original had an in coming message from paul overlayed with a trollface, the one I put at the end. But scrapped that version, and went with this.

I only found one Youtube clip with the voice (was too tired to search the rest though) and it didn't have the whole startup. The voice was mostly giving planetary info and just happened to end with "All systems nominal" which I cut out, cleaned a little and swapped out with the trailer voice while trying to maintain the background sound.

It would have been hard replacing the whole thing because of the switch flipping sounds that I'd have to cut out and include with the rest of the speech. :)

You sir, are a hero.

Like all of us, going bonkers over the teaser but everytime I watch it I'm expecting "Nominal" & I get "Online" at the end. It's not that it sounds bad or anything, just that we're all so used to the computer saying nominal.
I'm sure it was done to tie in to the name, "MW:Online" & can't argue against it, but yeah. Nice edit.

Mad props to PGI for getting the same computer voice from MW2 & Mercs (and the overall look of the teaser)!

Also, Hi everybody.

I remember a complaint from a pilot about the alarm "Being to loud"

Oh that alarm was the ECM warning that his plane was "Missile locked on"

(the next step would be to Eject)

Doh! Coulda sworn it was in both MW2 & MW2: Mercs as well.
Either way, sounds great regardless of origin. :)

Well, if anyone wants to know. For my piece, I just googled "MW2 betty voice" and found some really old forums, [I mean really really old forums] that had some links to zip files that contained most of the voice quotes. I was surprised the links still worked.

Yeppers. Confirming that "the voice" goes all the way back to MW2. She even used to announce what planet you were on.

Well that would have been way easier than cutting and cleaning the quote from this clip (which was what I did): :)

Ouch! I would have shot myself trying to clean that up, especially getting that music to go way. I recall some of the clips I had also had music playing in them, thankfully the nominal one wasn't one of those.

I agree. It seems a bit petty to nitpick over, but it's just odd after you've heard "nominal" for years.
