With the day-to-day IS news for the game tied to our real calender, I'm sure we've all been thinking about this a little bit. During the Clan Invasion, after the Battle of Radstadt, there is a whole year in which fighting largely ceases. Will this be the first big DLC-style patch and timeskip for the game? I can't imagine the Devs letting the game sit fallow for a year with the Battle of Luthien and the Battle of Tukayyid just beyond our grasp.

Thoughts?

Sounds like development time to me.

There could still be raids to other planets. It is not like all the clan warriors packed up for a year and went on vacation.

I forget, what year did that truce begin? If it is day for day that could be YEARS off.

Agreed.
"Peace" in this gaming universe just means "We're reloading." or "okay now start raiding him to stock up for when they fight us again!"

We don't know yet if combat is purely PvP or if the Clans might be NPCs at least initially. Anything in the occupation zones was fair game for IS-raids during the truce, and the more aggressive clans tended to stretch, if not outright violate, the terms of the truce from time-to-time.

Post Battle Of Tukkayid and the truce period would be an ideal time for an expansion to introduce playable clans if they aren't so at launch.

Basically between October 31, 3050 and November, 3051, not much happens. It's kind of the point, so the IS could catch it's breath and deploy units to and upgrade units on the Clan Front.

This is not the Tukayyid Truce that happens in May, 3052.

And as for why the year long "truce"

Passage 294
Verse 8, Lines 17-33

Tyra of the Rasalhague led,

Forth her fiery flighing Drakons,
Gallant in bronze. A warrior woman whose hands
Where unskilled int the ways of hearth and home,
In skills of war she was hard and trained
To leave behind the airy winds and fight
Where the void is eternal and life fleeting.

Tyra and her warriors fought

Like crazed demons above Radstadt.
When her fighter crippled by ours,
And her life leaked away into the endless night,
She chose to die
And sent her fighter like a spear
Through the Dire Wolf, claiming as isorla
Our mighty ilKhan's life. Sing of our loss, warriors!
Sing, but of Tyra also
For though an enemy, her courage none can deny

She did this with Phelan in her mind, oh what irony.

My pilot's name has nothing to do with this >.> She's based on a character I played long ago in Earth and Beyond XD

What I'm thinking is, that even with "truces" in the actual canon, we really don't have to cease hostilities in the actual game. We can keep playing and vying for position and planets regardless, and just use the timeline to help detail major events in the story, like Tukayyid.

That's one way to do it, I'm sure they'll come up with something to help explain/progress us without having to sit on our thumbs.
