Any 4X fans here? Of course, we can't discuss this genre without bringing up its reigning king, Civilization!

Alpha Centuri was a amazing game, and deff my favourite of the series... if it can be called part of the series. If only they would make another one like it.

Both Civ 4 and 5 have a place in my heart. One had empires spanning all over the globe views, but with no means of attacking each other and the second one had revised military and interface, but lacked some of the appeal of the previous games, simple "Veni, vedi, vici."

I will still give my vote to the 5th one as it was definately an improvement. They should really keep those improvements, just polish them better and add a little less 3 year old children gameplay. Maybe they already did so with the upcoming expansion I have not heared anything about for some time, already. :)

Anyway, my vote goes to the 5th. A little less easy, not being stripped of some good previous mechanisms (like the religion, but it is already coming with the expansion), given a bit of polish and it is the best game in the series. ;)

Haven't played this yet. My wallet is empty thanks to Diablo III and the amount I've reserved for MWO. :D

Loved upping my reactor ASAP to get that cost of production down.

Civ IV: Beyond the Sword for me, because of the awesome fantasy mod "Fall from Heaven".

Close 2nd is Call to Power 2, because of the Bioterrorist.

Civ IV for the best/most complex one, though I play Civ 5 cause it goes faster.
