I Like the concept of the Landmates from Appleseed, Not on the same scale as a Battlemech, but still very cool.
Much more Like an Elemental than a mech, but useable by a standard human, and not needing as strict genes.

Also Warhammer titans are dead sexy. (Hugs my mars pattern Warhound.)

Black Mamba from Heavy Gear. They are more Battle armor type, but still mechs. Besides anything that can stack up like swat or seals gotta be cool.

I liked the original Warlord titans. The newer ones are ugly, boxy-looking things.

But the greatest bipedal war michine is obviously http://www.youtube.c...fjdwjl

Oh definately, definately the classic green ZAKU II

Posted Image

Its heavy machine gun (character Azman has a thing for HMG), and its heat hawk battle axe, and its one red eye scanning menancingly hereabouts, oh I wish I could pilot a ZAKU II. Classic.

Gundam: War in the Pocket is definately one of my favourites. Gundam should stick to the UC timeline. Back then the Gundam UCs, Macross, Gunbuster, had more heart. The studios explored the theme of war and peace using mecha anime as a platform. (Maybe because the creators and audience lived through the cold war, I think) Now days mecha anime lack that heart, soul or grit. With storylines that overy-stylized, glorifed and always have something to do with japanese high-school. *sigh* Oh how I wish to pilot a Zaku II. Shooting your heavy machine gun at an onrushing gundam for something you believe in.

I really don't know if it fit's 'mech' in the sense most people are posting, but I'm a big fan of White Glint from Armored Core: For Answer.

If we're sticking to more Americanized stuff, I'd say the L5 Riesig from BF2142:

I used to just completely rape in that mech (yes, I'm going to call it a mech; sue me), especially against others, so there's always a certain fondness in having it be that mech you know and love to battle with.

If we're going with silly anime mechs, I'll take a nostalgic page from childhood and say the RZ-009 Command Wolf (go figure, one of the ones I never built a model of... Zoid models were always a ton of fun to construct)

It's rather simple in looks, not completely over the top like most of what comes out of Japan, but still completely feral looking, plus I'm always a fan of quadrupeds (can't argue with the agility and stability).

Warhammer 40K : Space Marine Dreadnought, Emperor class Titan, Imperial army Sentinel, Eldar Avatar. ( I´m too much Space Marine player to "like" the Chaos Dreadnought, although it looks pretty cool :D ) Tau Crisis/Coloss Battlesuit

and not to forget StarWars: AT/AT and AT/ST !!

I am a fan of the various valkyries from macross especially the VF 19 (prototype one) in macross plus (robotech is a ripoff even thats what got me into the macross series. earthsiege from what i remember had good units so are the various heavy gear ones. my favorite things about the gears are some are designed for dueling meaning they have swords and do one on one combat with another gear. real swords maybe vibro swords but not that sissy beam saber crap in gundam

Non-BT? Easy. Any and all Titans from the WH40K universe. They even have a graphic novel and an entire (really long) novel dedicated to to them, "Titanicus" by Dan Abnett. One of the few books I bought in hardback and tore through it in two days. Best $25 I've ever spent.

Now, for a truly physics-breaking, power-housing badass, I'd go with the Strike Freedom Gundam from Gundam SEED DESTINY. I don't feel like digging for a picture right now but I'll come back and do so later.
