I named my Raven "Tengu" after the bird-like youkai of Japanese folklore.

If I play my cards right, it lives up the name very well.

Wow, I never expected so many responses so quickly. Thanks for the info, folks!

I also recently purchased an Awesome, refitted with 3 large lasers and two SRM-6s. He has been dubbed Tankred, in honor of a Black Templars dreadnought in the WH40k fiction.

TANKRED ENDURES!

:) Be in-line with Battletech lore

Whether or not i have picked solid names is for the community too decide

LB-10xAC varient - Tormentor

Laserboat - Takahashi

i plan on getting a K2 and naming it - Sentience

any missile battery setups will have the name - Avalanche (Cat A1 for eg.)

I tend to give my mechs women's names, particular my harem of big, beautiful Atlases. My Founder's Atlas (AS7-D(F)) I can't rename, but I call her Danielle.

AS7-K: Katrina
AS7-D-DC: Donna-Claire

When I pick up another Jenner I'm planning on calling her Jeanine/867-5309. My next Raven will be M33Px2.

Right now my Dragon is Temeraire after the HMS Temeraire, due to a book series as well as the fact that its role resembles the fleet ship. My Atlai are always named Shrugged. Other than that I go with something Latin.

I'd been naming my mechs with serial codes thusfar, but I might start naming them something unique soon.

My Hunchbacks were named HBK-(loadout code)-VEN, with the last three being the beginning of my pilot's name.
After this reset, I'm probably going to be renaming them to mythological creature or ideas in other languages.

I lean more based on role and type such as most of the scout mechs "Speedy", "RR", "Flash" comes to mind, where the load outs often change depending who i am playing with at the time, however for the more particular ones that the load outs never change such as "Guassapult" or "the BOAT" those tend to be more on load outs.
