Hi Guys, new to the sight here, just came across the site while looking up some info on wikipedia. Anyways really interested in what I have seen so far. As a long time battletech fan having played the original way back in the day, as well as things like aerotech and other "expansions" shall we say, along with having read numerous books and played many of the computer games released in this universe, I must say I am extreemely excited to be able to pilot a mech again not having been able to do so since Mechwarrior 4.

I am interested in information on the founders program. It appears like I might have missed the boat on that. Is this program still running? I found a post from two weeks ago that seemed to indicate it was still running but now I can't find any where to sign up for it. Any ideas?

Battletech/Mechwarrior are some of my favorite games out there and I would love the chance to support a game that lets me pilot a mech again.

Thanks!

Recently, we announced that the MechWarior Online Open BETA will be pushed back until we can ensure a quality gaming experience for all of our pilots. We would like to clarify that the in-game content from PC Gamer Promotion, will be available at Open BETA, which will be re-announced in the coming weeks.

We would also like to thank everyone for their support of MechWarrior Online through their purchase of the Founder’s Program. You have made it possible for us to continue moving forward with development and shown that there is high demand for a polished product. We’re really working hard to meet our community’s high expectations. While our Founder’s Program has ended, we will be having more promotions in the very near future. If you have constructive ideas for additional promotions, please feel free to suggest them here!

Ended on October 14th...

You can buy the hero mech and get an earning bonus greater than the founders get on their mechs though.

I'm also sure they'll be offering other package deals to entice players with as well

rather short sighted of them not to have a package on open beta launch. after grinding to my first mech i don't see a point in buying a package. btw they should have accounced the end date of founders on facebook or via email.

Founder's Mechs are one of the standard configurations of the Hunchback, Atlas, Jenner, and Catapult. They have a unique paintjob and a c-bills earnings booster so you accrue c-bills (currency) faster when using them.

Hero mechs, well, we'll see what they are when more come out. Right now there is only Yen-Lo-Wang, a representation of the mech of the same name from BattleTech fiction ( http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Yen-Lo-Wang ). Yen-Lo-Wang has a unique appearance and a c-bill booster as well so you can earn a little more currency per match.

Both have a custom skin and give a boost of C-Bills, so they are the same thing.

PS: the hero mechs actually gives 5% more C-Bills bonus than the Founders' mechs.

PPS: the Founders' Mechs are the primary variants of the mechs and the Hero Mechs are specially famous custom designs, so they are unique variants in the game.

Not short sighted at all...The package was up for sale for WAY too long. It was stated it would be ended on August 7th, so the majority of players bought the package the day it came out since it was suppose to end anytime before the 7th and it never did. So we who bought the package in true support of the game for fears that the package wouldn't be available for long are now the ones who get to see all the people who bought the package AFTER they got the try the game...
