congrats .... but i would not have put this patch to live servers before internal testing, after even the 1st match with a mech with DHS, ES and FF + weapons, some ammo need and some damage you should have noticed at least the following:
- DHS working not properly
- the loosers effectivly lost CB while the winners got only very small amounts
- customizing a mech in the mechlab is a pita, if you dont plan what you want to do in some external tool PRIOR to setting up your mech, you pay shitloads of CB for nuthin'
- had some volleys on the caustic map, exploded cos i didn't even cool down (mech was not shutdown, just standing still /fired no weapons/ after not shutting down due to overheat? (possible bug) for about 20 seconds, then watched my mech explode piece by piece while heat bar was still at or beyond 100% - and i wasn't even close to the crater area

please fix this soon, as this is imho no playable state when you use advanced tech stuff (repair bills and heat issue mainly)

People need to learn the new systems better.

Great job with the patch guys, hope the knockdown get's reimplemented. Had in interesting case of getting stuck in between the containers and building at lower cap in the river city map. I somehow managed to get stuck in an infinite falling state, where my jump jets weren't refilling. I was unable to become unstuck. I know that pre-patch I would of "fallen over" at some point and have been placed over the geometry. A strange side effect of that system is that it seemed to work as a"unsticking" mechanic.

I think we should put in some collision damage, if we are not going to let lights get knocked down. I mean real damage that scales with size. An Atlas smashing into a Commando is kinda of like a motorcycle against a car, the car gets some damage but we know who wins that one.

Are they going to re-implement ramming better or is it removed completely as a feature? I rather liked it...

Paul had responded in another thread that knockdown is disabled while new systems are worked on. The main cause of the disable was due to the warping mechs would do while standing back up.

Ahh, thank you for that reassurance.

May have missed the following in patch notes but I don't think so:
Founders mechs are no longer considered a separate variant.

All my mech xp that was in my AS7-DF was refunded in the AS7-D on top of what I had in my AS7-D.
It makes since I guess, since they were the same any way.

Just thought it was funny that I had 125,000 mech xp in the D.
I can't use all of that xp in that mech tree. Could convert to gxp using mc(aka real money) but who wants to do that.

I had master in the DF and the D.
Was a little disappointed because now I have to buy a different Atlas, grind on that one just so I can get back to where I was in the D and the RS.

C'est la beta. :)

Yes, there will be more resets. There will be at least one final reset for sure when closed beta end and the open beta start. And this will be a final and full reset.
Devs said this already endless times. It was posted and said more than once. Spend all your current MC on stuff to try around. You will get them back.

Open Beta start now at 29th from last infos.
And just avoid the questions that may happen again:

Quote

Open Beta is our final reset. Once it happens, we will not be resetting everything again. We will be resetting C-Bills, MC, XP, GXP, Mechs, and inventory. The only thing you’ll keep is your friends list. However, if you have a Founders pack, everything will be added from that pack. Also anything you’ve purchased (with MC) will be added back.

Enjoy and use your credits and MC untill monday. Test around, try stuff out.

another issue in the mechlab, if you put an engine on, it says it needs a min of x amount of heat sinks added. First off, shouldnt there be heat sinks on the engine to begin with? All engines are supposed to have 10 so I hear. If you dont add the x amount of heat sinks and try to go into a game, you auto disconnect from the game with no warning or reason why. The lab doesnt tell you that you dont have the minimum heat sinks and still allows you to save and launch without them, it just kicks you once you enter the game. My friend had this happen to him multiple times untill he added extra heat sinks, now he doesnt get auto kicked.

All engines have 10 heat sinks included in their weight. Any engine under a 250 rating needs crits to mount them. It is glitched in that it will let you launch without them, but otherwise working as intended.

We need collisions back. Light mechs are practically invincible without streak missiles.

Really don't like that there is no way to preview effects of changes without buying them. If they are bad you have to buy the old config back. VERY expensive. :D

Light mech being invincible is the product of two things

A. the removal of collision
B. the highly unreliable hit detection after this patch

after the patch, cases where ppl r shooting and hitting in their client but missing server side has bloated like mad... it affected ppl regardless of their latency (which makes no sense but that's what we've been getting reports of from the thread) and for ppl with significant latency, it made lag shooting exponentially more difficult than before because of the erratic and unreliable deflection amount they have to do now to score a hit server side. (and they can't use the client information to gauge it properly anymore).

They most definitely are working on point A with the collision while they rework it...

I am far more concerned with point B because i've not heard of PGI response on them or if they know what's wrong with either the hit registry or the netcode.

So after a quite a few more sessions with the new patch Ive noticed the following, playing in a 4+ party and winning every round is the only way to have positive CBill growth while using Ferro Fibrous armor, Endo-Steel Internal Structure and Double Heat Sinks.

If you lose with these items equipped you go negative.

I played on my own for a bit after everyone I play with went offline and I had to switch everything back to standard for my CBill count was dropping fast after losing a few times with pugs.

Is this intentional? Like the price you pay for going for advanced Mech selections?

Yes in that DHS, XL engine, FF armor, etc will cost more to repair and replace than normal variant... this was intended

You will still get positive income however as long as you do not equip all at once, IN PARTICULAR:

FF is the one i'd avoid at all cost unless i absolutely have no other choice.

Each FF armor is essentially twice as expensive as normal armor...

and since you ALWAYS lose armor first as you get shot, putting such expensive piece of equipment that you lose all the time is a very inefficient investment overall unless if there's a bigger concern overriding it.

At least in the case of DHS or XL, you won't have to repair or replace them if you didn't get them destroyed which means you are fine as long as you didn't get wrecked.

but FF you can't avoid really unless you don't get hit AT ALL since any damage you suffer will burn away your expensive armor...

Incidentally, endo steel cost almost no more than the regular frame, making them a very efficient investment if you have spare crit slot and high tonnage.

So unlike the other advanced gear, even if you get wrecked, endo won't set you back any more expensive than the normal frame.

Do you even read anything? You WILL lose anything when it goes open. Your Credits will be reset zu zero and your bought mechs will vanish. You get back your starting MC and founder mechs and thats it.

They said more than once that there will be resets in closed beta, and that there will be a final last reset when open beta starts. So why are you suddenly complaining?

Thanks Melcyna that was a pretty informative post.

I guess we wont be seeing much FF out in the battlefield.
