The toe claw! (DFA)
Medium lasers.
AC is the most fun until you're empty.
I always liked a TW with all medium lasers best in netmech.

Rotary AC of course!
RACs are the most fun weapon ever designed. :D

Not many weapons have the damage potential of a RAC-5.
Only an Ultra 20 and the biggest ATM launcher with short range missiles comes close to doing 30+ per hit. ^_^

Gauss. Gauss. Gauss.
I can't wait to take a medium mech and strap two light gauss rifles (or one if not possible) to it with a few small lasers to round it out. Or maybe as many machine guns as I can fit into it to make a no heat ballistics boat.

Ya know, there's a good point floating around here.

I do find that I never go into combat without a couple of good medium lasers.

Just an all around good, sturdy, inexpensive weapon.

Two thumbs up here.

Large Pulse Laser under any circumstances I can, even if it's the only weapon I can load onto it.

After that, PPC, AC20, LRM of whatever size I can pack in after that for an all rounder setup.

RAC's for me. Nothing screams death more then a pair of RAC/5s roaring while gutting an Atlas or Dire Wolf in five seconds.

Man, I'll take a good, solid AC/10. Packs a nice punch, rocks the other pilot around a bit, and can reach pretty far for its power, too. Throw a couple tons of ammo and some Medium Lasers and I'm set. Thus, the Centurion is perfect for me, because it throws in the LRMs for free! XD

As if I'd want to pilot anything that doesn't have at least 10 flamers on it. :D

Gauss, and medium lasers. Kind of why I like the MAD-5S, and it throws in two PPCs for free.

For me it has to be the medium laser.

Light, good heat to damage ratio and common. This is the workhorse weapon of the battletech universe. Everything else exists to soften things up for the medium beamers or to exploit the damage they have done.

Every time I think of Battletech or Mechwarrior, I think of PPC's. Unique weapon system to the universe, and well, "lightning mated with a sine wave" just kinda does it for me.

I really like ER PPC's. Although they are hot, they dish out good damage and have excellent range.

Personally, I love having Flamers and running Scorched Earth. Hands down my favorite Battletech weapon.

In MWO I get to aggravate people, flood their screens with fire, and turn their mechs a nice scorched black color, destroying all their pretty paintjobs.

In Tabletop Battletech I get to create smoke screens, overload people's heatsink capacity (and eventually their engines), cook off enemy ammunition, and melt light vehicles. However, the most wonderful aspect . . . is I get to roast people into tiny crisps . . . whether it's unprotected infantry, battle-armor/elementals, or vehicle crews and mechwarriors who refuse to eject.

I love the smell of crispy clanners in the morning . . . or anyone else I'm hired to run Scorched Earth against.

No love for the Heavy Gauss Rifle? :)

In regards to Inner Sphere weaponry, it's the Gauss Rifle for me. It was the single most effective weapon in the fight against the Clans until newer and more advanced technologies could be developed. There is no mistaking why, by the mid 3050's, you had multiple canon 'mech designs (ranging from light to assault) equipped with one or more of them.

For the Clans it was most certainly the ERPPC. Though I must say the Hyper Assault Gauss Rifle 40 (HAG-40) is truly a terrifying, if impractical, weapon.
