Should be in the Tournaments forum. But I do agree that with multi-day tournaments like this, they should limit it. It's gotta be super demoralizing to compete and lose to the same guy day after day.

Except... Koreanese, whatever the hell build he's running, seems to be consistently at the top for mediums. I only really play mediums. I have a pretty decent--even somewhat awesome; 6xLL 2xAMS-- stalker build that works out a lot of the time, but I like my mediums.

Now that's cool, he/she's obvisouly a bad *** mech pilot... i'm just thinking, how much more awesome would it be if the tournament stated you could rank top 5/10 only ONCE and be part of the top-20 for the week only ONCE as well, instead of the same 5-10 people beating the same 5-15 people everytime with very little (if any) overlap.

My thinking is -- once you've won top-5 you are NO LONGER eligible for top-5 wins (at tje very LEAST, not within your same weight category) but still eligible, of course, for top-20 at the end of the week.

Anyway, good **** either way, I love to see mechwarrior continuing, but as a founder, i was very reluctant to spend any more cashish (read: USD; like total developer salary USD and fervent mechwarrior, regardless of MW TM owner a supporter of MW online) after i realized the winners were recycling.

I mean, i have one day a week where my score can even remotely compare to that **** -- so FTS (f**k that s**t) -- I f**king work 45 hours a week as an underpaid state employee, why does koreanese get to have all the fun?

Ah well, that's my rant. BTW, I LOVE the tournies, I just think if you're gonna do top-5 every day for a week, don't allow repeat offenders for the same weight class; that's horse-****!

So you wanna "win" by be given the prize, instead of earning it?

Makes me think that the "Everybody Is a Winner" mentality has taken hold. Does it suck to lose? Yes. Does it suck to be a "Winner" by default, instead of earning it? I'd say so.

It's a week long tournament, with an overall winner. If you nerf the ability for someone to win overall, it defeats the point of the whole thing.

Koreanese has a system that works for him, and has invested a lot of time into it. Also, he's very skilled, no matter what the naysayers and foul play conspiracy theorists think. All the more power to him for winning.

The number one spot should only ever be awarded to the person who takes it. No restrictions.

but it isn't the same 5 people over and over, in fact there is only 4 that have dominated previous tourneys, the rest are just a bunch of randoms. all the big names must be on summer vacation... or the other...

Sorry to disappoint you.... but my builds are very standard. For med bracket I use 4p with 9 med las, for heavy I use 3 ppc 3d XML engine. I have a playlist of video stickied on training and guides section of forums. I explain most of my tactics and tips through 13 videos. Once this ******* tourneys over and I can sleep in peace at night, I'll be making a video about spamming the **** out of override button through entire game match. So take look at my videos! U might see something that you never thought about!

O BTW I also work 12 hrs a day 6 days a week. The weather gods have blesses me with weather so lot of workers were sent back home!

I don`t stand much of a chance in the tournaments, either, but I`d rather win nothing at all and know I tried my best than win something just because the better player wasn`t allowed to compete.

If you want something just for participating, play Little League baseball, you get a trophy every year regardless of how bad you suck

I'm all for fairness, but in adult competitions this is how things work. Besides who cares if you don't win 1st place, the prizes are ok but not something to feel regret over not getting. Its a game, have fun!

I can't beat this one guy and get the "First Place Prize" on my own merit, so like can you disqualify him so that I can walk around with my Shiny Gold Medal (that should have the *First Place only in my Own Mind) to brag about and stroke my epeen to?

Could be worse, could be one of the blatant cheaters who try to brag about their skill, at least this guy admits to mediocrity. I just don't see why we should hand out awards for it.

Ok, so the OP may have been slightly annebriated. First off I just want to say I had a great time in the tournies, and most of my blather is unwarranted and... well, ranty.

So let me respond (also, no matter how many damn times I tried, when I posted this I always got the message that the number of quote tags was unbalanced, even though that's utter BS, so I've been force to resort to saying QUOTE for quotes....):

No, that's ridiculous. If you got a prize for being in 6th place because 3rd place had already received a prize, does that mean you didn't earn it? Maybe, but that's debatable, and I think that's what I may have been getting at.

No, i don't want something for participating. I mean, actually I have millions of cbills from participating just because of the sheer number of games I played.

Lol, indeed. Of course, a writing class won't undrunkify me. Instead, the OP should consider whether it's worth doing anything involving the interwebs, phones, or other people when too drunk. The answer is: probably not :D

Yup -- been having fun. Don't want anyone thinking I'm indignant or ungrateful. The tournies were good and I only ever got to 18th place, so it really wouldn't have mattered anyway. Apologies for unneeded ****-talking. But it was just a suggestion.

Cool .... a 4p, eh? I sold my damn 4p during the tourny to buy a second 4sp and i'm totally regretting it. I wish you could buy an empty/unfitted mech, cuz I have like 30 MLs just sitting around.

I can actually understand the want for having a different winner per day.. which sounds fine.

On the other hand.. there are actually different brackets. It is not humanly possible to win them all, unless you truly have nothing better to do.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, you have to be realistic when playing a tourney like this. I'm being realistic about my skills when I say it'd be a stretch for me to crack the top ten, so that's not what I'm playing for. I'm simply trying to better my own score each night (892 last night, gonna try to crack that tonight!). Folks take things like this far too seriously IMHO: getting all aggro because they can't beat Koreanese. Chill. Have some fun. This is supposed to be a game, folks
