Not to make the game SEEM like a nameless FPS, but there is tactical worth in being able to re-watch your death over in a user-controllable replay fashion.

I would think you would only be able to 3rd-person view around your play (and not the enemy) and maybe get like the last 5-10 seconds before your Mech's death (very cool to replay reactor breaches as well!)

This would be different than a replay editor for entire games which we had suggested; this replay would just be for player deaths. Anyone for these? Against them?

In a delayed broadcast, sure. Would be helpful for people to see what was the death blow and why it was a death blow. Hopefully learn from it. Hopefully.

I'd go even further and suggest a full-scale replay recording feature, not unlike one they have in starcraft, with the ability to rewatch the entire match from any point of view, including free-floating spectator camera, access to FF, rewind and pause commands, access to any stats of any mech in the match and maybe even video export features. Could be very useful and entertaining. Oh, and some of the options, mentioned above could be a part of "premium replay recording package", which should be purchased with real cache.

Yeah, me too; but that was already discussed in multiple threads. I'm all for it too, I'm just hoping that they offer death replays in tandem.

I BELIEVE PGI stated that the game won't have a recorder in it at release (it's a MVP, afterall), but it would be something they would look at post-launch. I would REALLY love to have that in tandem with the death replay. How cool would it be to watch your Mech after you successfully ejected too? :D

I'd love to see something like this. It'd be really good for people who want to see their 'Mech in action if a third person camera isn't an option.
