Hello all,

I was interested in getting a feel for the spread of interest in different weight classes/roles among the forum users. I thought this might give us an interesting picture of the community.

Much of this will all change once we get our hands on the game itself, but it will be interesting to see if the community itself is leaning towards balance numbers of players interested in the different roles/tonnage/factions of the game. It will also be interesting to see a little bit of the background that influences the community.

Unfortunately, the polls are limited to 20 questions, so I couldn't ask the weight class or role questions by House, it would have been interesting to see if we are going to see a disparity of roles/weight classes among certain houses. If you would like to provide that info in a post I would encourage it.

I just noticed that somebody wants to play a Lyran Scout Lance. Somebody actually chose Scout/Assault as a desired role.

No, the poll is to see what roles, mech, and factions you will play. The OP is attempting to compile aggreate statistics on these things. All of the above doesn't help that. Also, some of the choices are mutually exclusive of each other.

Great to see the responses coming in, we're at 130 responses at the time I make this post, which is enough that some trends start to appear. I'll be editing my initial posts to include trends I notice that are not so immediately obvious to the eye that pointing them out wouldn't be helpful.

As a side note, there is a restriction to only 3 questions with 20 possible answers each when making polls, which was somewhat limiting and forced me to structure them this way to get as much info as possible. For instance I originally had a question about age demographics but was forced to drop it for space.

I'm pleased with the weight class numbers though. Good to see that concentration of people in the middle of the spectrum. Seems right.

137 of 151 responses are reporting their gender. 2 female, 135 Male, 14 Non-responsive. This may say something more about women being unwilling to self identify in a forum like this than it does actual population...

After all those 2 female votes could have been males checking them, and females could have checked male, or some people might have checked both. Certainly some have checked neither... so *shrugs* it's not really conclusive other than what people were willing to throw out there.
