I've been noticing a discrepancy with BattleMechs of different sizes when comparing their cockpits.

Logic dictates that a 'Mech with a cockpit that's larger in comparison to the rest of its body will be smaller than a 'Mech with a cockpit that's smaller in comparison to the rest of its body. Yet the Commando has a smaller cockpit than the Catapult, and the Atlas must be huge, since it's left eye is apparently big enough to fit an entire cockpit inside. Meanwhile, the Timber Wolf and Mad Dog have cockpits that seem to take up the entire torso, making them appear much smaller than the heavy 'Mechs they're supposed to be.

Yeah, you have to be thinking that the Timber Wolf must have a lovely atrium with a ballroom and a small botanical garden stashed away in there. Where's the engine supposed to go?

Yea, I attribute it to Viewshield size. If you look around the catap cockpit you can see in all directions and its very pretty. The Awesome and the Atlas seem cramped by comparison.
