Just as an FYI, I think it's kind of bad form to start a suggestion thread over a specific favorite 'mech. I'm totally neutral on the Vendicator, but everybody has their favorites and if we start doing this, it's going to turn the board into a horrible mess really, really fast. (I mean I could, right now, start posting threads "Petition for Orion" "Petition for Wolfhound" etc. until I hit all my favorites). There is a thread for this sort of thing in the General forums.

The petition for the Urbanmech was a little different in that the Urbie is viewed by most people as the joke 'mech of BattleTech due to it's squat design, horrendous speed, etc. I actually like it (and made it work well in the only MW games that ever had it!) but I'm a minority. The thing is more mascot of the underdog than 'mech. Just explaining why this thread existed before. (Also, the petition for the Ares - horrendously awful idea as it was - at least was over the fact it existed in a different weight class).

Anyway, here's hoping they eventually add a Vindicator. I like it just fine, they could do some neat stuff with it art wise, even if they have to buff it's combat stats. But I'll admit I'm hoping for the Orion, Stalker, Trebuchet, Black Knight, Panther and Lancelot first.

I certainly don't want my petition to cause any problems; I only put it up in 'Suggestions' because I thought that seemed most appropriate at the time. In any case, thanks for your feedback!

(P.S. - 'buff its combat stats'? The stock Vindicator is easily a match for the CN9-A Centurion 'as is'. I might even take a VND-1R into combat against a DRG-1N, despite the weight difference!)

Definately want the Vindicator it would be my first choice starter mech.. this poll belong in the general section would get far more responses

I hope to see the Vindicator in the game, it's one of the 'Mechs that I look forward to piloting.

The Capellan Confederation is my least favorite Successor State, and I'm not a big fan of the Vindicator by any stretch, but I do believe that it should be included as one of the medium 'Mechs for a couple reasons I stated in other threads but I'll state again here;

Liaos currently got the Catapult/Raven combo, but no direct fire chassis. The Vindicator is the near definition of a workhorse 'Mech -- it is a jack of all trades, master of none kind of machine. Another plus is that it is jump capable, unlike any of the other medium 'Mechs we have seen yet.

I'll definitely sign your petition to see it in game as I think it'd make the best addition from the ideas I've seen being tossed around.

I'd definitely agree that the Vindicator is " . . . the near definition of a workhorse 'Mech -- it is a jack of all trades, master of none kind of machine". This, more than any other reason, is why I like it best.

It's the kind of machine you'd want to have waiting for you in the hanger if you knew you had to take the next mission to come your way, whatever and wherever that happened to be. It's a standby; a trooper; a durable and cheap line 'Mech that lacks bells and whistles, but makes up for it in grit and battlefield survivability. It's just plain useful.

I also get why all this might make it seem bland to some.

Thanks again for your interest, and for the 'signature' - even if the Vindi isn't one of your all-time favorites.

I would rather drive a Shadowcat than this...

I'm fully aware that the Shadowcat is a Clan mech, but by far, it is better than this mediocrity.
