Custom maps: possible or not?

Obviously the devs would do a quick review to make sure there were no exploits available (other than exp of the map, which mitigates itself after it's been in rotation for a week or so).

Even if it becomes an issue, you simply turn off xp and meta-game for that map, and it becomes a sandbox or PR map (for the community).

Players do not need to control the server to run the map, it just needs to be sent to the devs to be uploaded (or maybe I'm missing something).


Not a bad idea... then afterwards perhaps a community vote on said custom map... then if a certain majority of the community likes it, then the Devs could take a serious look at it, work their magic to make it fair for both sides, then maybe go from there. This could really work with the idea of planet bashing in the Battletech Universe. After all, when you raid/defend/train/garrison a planet, its not gonna be the same terrain each and every time... Perhaps a particular mapset for a given planet type.
