Frankly, I don't know about anyone else, but these losers are starting to annoy me, nearly every round someone log's in, doesn't like the line up, and bail's. Its spoiling the game, they take what little balance there is and **** over their team mates by quitting and wasting a team slot.
Something needs to be done, and punishment needs to be harsh enough to be a deterrent. IMHO, that should be full and complete repairs and full ammo rearm, regardless of the shape their mech is in at the end of the battle, along with a 10 minute penalty preventing joining another round; if they exit the game, save the penalty state until they log in next, so the 10 minutes must be served.
If you give these losers any leeway they will continue to behave like this, spoiling pugs, pugs are often hard enough given their random nature, we don't need deadbeats and quitters making it worse.

Hexcalibur,
This isn't always the reason they leave. Remember, this is still a closed beta; there are going to be issues with performance still in it, and some of them are going to be related to things like connectivity. Just because someone leaves the match doesn't mean it was purposeful... I typically run a full eight-man group in my Ghost Warriors Brigade, and there are times when we lose one or two of them due to technical issues beyond their control. If you really are fed up with it, I would suggest you join a merc group or a great House unit, and drop with them. But punishing them for something that's beyond their ability to control is not right. I understand your frustration, really I do, but punishment needs to be reserved for those who deserve it: cheaters, hackers, and the like.

Many disconnect and I noticed that they have very bad ping above 140ms on average. I am not saying all with this ping do but mostly it is folks that have higher latency. I have seen people in the 200+ which seems really bad for this game. The light mechs that look like they were teleporting all over the map always had very had ping. This last patch from this week seem to really improve so far this iisue.
I hope I added something positive to the thread.

When my game crashes, I still get a repair bill, but I get no payout. What else do you want?

I'm not sure a timed lockout for bailing would be practical in this game. After all this isn't WoW where you can run around for 15 minutes doing other things if you bail on a BG.
