So liveing in the jersey area my faimly is a little worried for whats comming next week. That being said Hurricane Sandy. We have all gotten out stuff together. Fuel for the generator extra candles spare water things of that nature. So just out of curiosity How many other fellow mech pilots of mine are in Sandys line of fire here.

Strangely enough, I'm listening to the wind howl right now.

Not too bad, but it's going to get nothing but worse over the next 12 hours or so.

Southern Eastern Ontario.

With any luck the storm won't cause as much damage to any of us as PGI's patches do to this game. ;)

Sandy is passing through right now, (Sunset Beach, NC) but she's only a 1. For 1s we bring in the lawn chairs. For 2s we close the shutters, while 3s make us go and start up the generator at the church shelter. Cat 4 hurricaines and we go visit Aunt Margaret up in Dunn.

P.S. Will be praying for y'all yankees. Looks like lots of flooding. And Shade, your flight has been cancelled.

So im in Ocean City Md and ive gone about 30 miles inland but i don't think it really matters where you go, pretty sure were not gonna have power for a week or so because the elect. companies out this way are pathetic, took them 3 days to do 5 min worth of work last storm we had (flip the breaker on the elect pole..) got everything i need but not looking forward to 3 days or more of severely crappy weather.. might be weak but its huge... they said 20 ft waves on the great lakes and my jaw dropped... so in the words of one of my fav movies... " ITS COMING RIGHT FOR US!!!" :P

I also live in Jersey and will not be able to play for a few days mandatory evacuation and no power soon I imagine. Have fun when open starts tomorrow. I figure a week before I will be back on. Oh well a quick trip to visit friends and family. See you in my sights.

We tend to lose power here for days too when it so much as blows a little, just like others here. So this will be bad for my play time as welll. Oh well, I imagine some coastal folks may have bigger things to worry about than not being able to log on to MWO. Stay safe everyone.

I guess Mother Nature decided to lower the player numbers for open beta debut. Best laid plans and all that. Don't take our lack of participation personally, PGI.

Five blocks off the beach on the Bay Shore of NJ. All finished getting the hatches batoned down, time to ride it out. Manditory Evacuations for my town start one block over...

Good luck, cya when the power comes back on :P

My town is an island of sand thats literally 3 blocks wide with the ocean to the front and a bay on its back.. , it really wouldn't surprise me if it was gone when this is over

i personaly dont expect it to be anything that bad (like the flood of 2011) but i dont know, i live on a hill, so i might just be getting cocky, but from my 9th grade level understanding of weather. the huricane will go over cool water, weakening it, then, any part of the huricane that hits land weakons with every second its on land. so, i predict heavy rain, but nothing horrible

I'm in Virginia, and I thought it was coming for us,but we are just getting rain, windgusts maybe up to 35, and coastal flooding. I looked at the forcast model the other day and they said it was going to make landfall between Atlantic City and NYC. You can bet your you guys are going to get some rain, and power outtages. You have more to worry about if you are on the coast.

Its one thing to prepare for the hurricane, the aftermath is another story. Thats why they say two gallons of water for each adult per day, stock up on non perishibles, medicines, and food for your pets. Make sure your wallet and gas tank is full, in case power goes out and you may not have access to gas or cash for days.

I don't know if you live in the hood or the other extreme a gated community, but be prepared to protect your life, wife and property. Some cops and staties maybe out and if they do, they are already undermanned, outgunned and have to cover a large area and thats before emergencies such as this. I would keep in touch with your neighbors in your community about help afterwards such as where to get water and ice. All this rambling is what comes to my mind first, and from experiences and doesn't include all the things you should do. For you, your family and everyone in Sandy's path I hope you are safe and dry, and stay out of harm's way. God Bless you all!
