I have a question and a statement.

The Question:
I'm sure it's been mentioned elsewhere, but I've always steered clear of the political. Still, I have always been curious why Goons picked House Liao as their faction?

The Statement:
I didn't like you in EVE, and as a semi-f.a.n. b.o.y. of all things Battletech and Mechwarrior, I didn't like you here in MWO. I have to admit though that a glimmer of appreciation for Goons has grown on me. You lot were among the first to call BS on IGPGI's community 'management' practices, long before the rest, and for this you have my thanks, FWIW.

Goons are anyone who hail from somethingawful and have done many many things in all category's, Goonfleet of eve is quite infamous for being the biggest corp and destroying everyone else's fun by playing the game.

Goons are so terrible we once had a donation drive to get a bad poster banned and gathered more that $50000 for recovery aid after the earth quakes in japan. The important thing is the poster got banned really.

Because it was funny. No, seriously. We figured the best way to obtain maximum entertainment out of the then-forthcoming community warfare was to join the smallest and least-liked House. It would also, we thought, provide us with plenty of opportunity to make fun of the wannabe space knights of Davion, the wannabe space samurai of Kurita and the wannabe space kaisers of Steiner, specifically the sort of mechwarrior/battletech players who take those sorts of things really seriously (and probably own like three broadswords and a katana they bought off the home shopping network.) Similarly, our adoption of the noble Tetatae and Word of Blake imagery; we know they're going to annoy the sort of person who'd rather care about getting their batchall correct than about winning the game. Because that's what we were here for, originally. Turns out the most popular game mode ended up being Forumwarrior Online.

While I can't speak to Goonswarm's activities in EVE because it is a bad game and the Word of Lowtax does not support the playing of bad games, I can merely shrug and point out that the vast majority of the Word's goon mech operators have never played EVE, or, like in my case, tried the free trial for a couple hours, did not find any fun within, and immediately moved on to more interesting things.

Like watching paint dry.

pretty much just csgo at this point, when i play video games, but im garbage at it, probably the worst in kdr

in other vaguely related news ikarti died and nephyx mostly stopped playing games with us even though hes my fiancee since he joined a vaguely professional csgo team, and we struggle to get even 5 people together at a time to play csgo. rip kdr

e: oh since we've already got allen wren(whoever taht is) and ohsh in there so its basically a free for all and you seem okay, kdr hangs around on #kdr on synirc. come visit us we're lonely, bring and/or tell your friends or whoever really i dont care

e2: also i finally got my copy of ulillillia's book since i lost my first one and i took some pictures of it with my phone here u go, you can even see a little bit of the coffee table nephyx made too
