Hello

I ask this in good faith, not to demand but just curious because it will determine how I will purchase things in the game for now.

I am not too familiar with everything but I played a few matches and it looks like it could be pretty fun. I am learning a lot even though my mech gets killed very quickly.

From reading all the posts it looks like there will be a large change to the heatsink system. Since it is about 1.5 million cbills to purchase this upgrade I probably won't see it for a long time. But I was wondering if this game offers refunds when drastic changes to the game is made. I would feel bad if I bought something at 1.5million cbills and found out that they changed it so much, I no longer wanted it. Would people get the single heat sinks again for refund then be able to buy the double hit sinks or are they just stuck with their old purchase?

Many MMOs refund talent/skill points if significant changes are made for free. I was wondering if it was the case here since the game still seems to be working out the details. And if there is no refund, when do you think it will be -safe- to make big purchases? This is a lot of money and I know I can buy MCs but I don't want to buy something that I know will be changed so quickly even with MCs.

No. The ToS (which unfortunately seems to be MIA at the moment except when you sign up) specifically says they do not.

The game is in open beta, things will change.

If you're not comfortable with that, don't spend any real money at this time.

You have a point. I know LoL gives you a maximum of 3 refunds but thats because you cant sell anything you buy so idk you should file a ticket and see what they say on the matter. I'd be interested to see myself.

Safe... Around launch i would say since A: You by then know the game... B: No insane coco-for-cocopuffs changes should happen. Like the previous poster i STRONGLY advice against committing real money if you are worried that some major chnage might invalidate or diminish your investment.

As for in-game systems. We simply do not know yet as no major change have happened since they went open beta. There is always the chance that we get a C-Bills refund or a XP refund if something major change but for now nobody can give you a straight answer(and the people who can will not as they will have that rammed won their throat each time anything changes). but to make a example there is always a opening that the devs, once they have good numbers on the economy will give a C-Bills injection to the people who were effected by the DHS issue. But again no promises, only speculation..

I'm a founder, I invested in the game, I have my 4 mechs & 20k MC, and when the button turns up, I will NOT be hitting it.

The game in the current state, is in perpetual flux (I like that word, must use it more!), and balancing is an on going process, so for the time being, I will not be spending anymore money on the game until I feel things have settled down a bit.

As for in-game currency (C-Bills), my advice, keep a close eye on the forums, especially the 'upcoming' topics, as these will generally give you an idea of what is likely to change in the near future, e.g. I was planning to upgrade my beloved Atlas to DHS, but then they announced the system was going to change, so I decided against it, to wait and see how things panned out (especially given that if you convert, you can't convert back yet (cheaply anyways), that feature is in soon also).

So, feel free to spend C-Bills as you see fit, you can always earn more, but when it comes to MC, keep an eye on upcoming stuff before you buy, it's only common sense really :(

P.S. Flux...!

I have not spent a sinlge MC on the game, although I did purchase founders yes, and recieve the premium bonus.

I have a acquired about 36 million C-Bills, 5,600 GXP and unlocked the master module slots for all 3 of my jenners in 4 days of.. well about 10 hours each day..

But ya, In the long haul there is nothing you can't get w/ some good play (other than 'mech bays ATM and hero 'mechs)

Time to start working on my XLengi. laser, guardian, bap, ams, ravens! (for after they get the streaks in order I want me some payback!)

Edit: It's tempting indeed to purchase the 'mech of your dreams immediately, but in my particular case.. I'd much rather save my MC for things you can only purchase W/ MC... such as skins/cockpit accessorries/hero 'mech that I like/premium time

premium time premium time premium time get it and you wont be frustrated as much, even tho it is quite leniant w/out the bonus (subject to change)
