Only tried this once so far, as I just had it happen, but alt-tabbing out of the game then back into the game fixed the fps bug for me. Hopefully this will help deal with it until they identify the cause and fix it.

For those who don't know, the bug is every so often you'll join a game and only be getting 2-10 fps instead of your usual performance.

That was also the first idea that came tomy mind. But sadly it doesnt work with my machine. It even gets worse. Not only having ~4fps but a Amiga500-3D-Graphics-Style, like, only 4 colourd boxes with playernames

The "good thing" is, the 4fps is pretty much reproducable on my machine. after 10 to 12 games it will happen ~90%. After deleting the Cache-folder MWO works fine again. (for those who dont know its in the Gamefolder under >USERS-Shaders-Cache)

Happy new Year!

Well here are 2 things that you can cross off:

1) It is not map specific, as i have had it happen on every map, day and night.
2) It is not mech specific, had it in a raven, stalker and cataphract so far.

1 things is for certain;

1) It always starts during the start of a match.

Memory leak or netcode issue??

GFX card 3870X2, happens every 20 or so games, pretty random.

Also if this helps:

If i keep my mech stationary, no lag, full fps, even when i swivel, no fps drop.

Its only when i start moving i get FPS drop.

Just had it again, no programs open, also had red and blue squares appear on the mountains in river city, corrupt texture file??

What i have also noticed:

The mech armour health outliner goes red, light red, about 3 times, where as, when i have a good game, it goes straight to white (0% damage) and does not alter.

Virgin Media 60Mb down 5Mb up.

I have XP-32 bit client.

For me, being in windowed mode and then starting a new webbrowser session flushes the memory enough to get back up to 15-18fps (normally 25-30fps).
