Hello folks, I know there are a lot of new players in MWO at the moment, and in the few games I’ve noticed some pretty shifty behaviour from certain members of our community, with Text spam and abuse. Here are a few helpful hints.
  • Do not respond to them in game, feeding the egos of those causing this kind of trouble is not the answer, and by reacting your only feeding their egos.
  • Report them via the ticket system to PGI, they have strict rules on Behaviour, and they can only react if they receive tickets on the issues.

If you do both of these things the trouble makers can be found and dealt with, please if you observe Spam or abusive behaviour towards other do not interfere but report the offender, because your actions might also become reportable, no matter how good your intentions are.

Thanks

ShadowDarter

Doesn't bother me, just ignore the adult children. Should have seen what it was like in age of conan.

age of conan was really bad worse then trade chat in stormwind 3 years ago.. Yes i have noticed a sudden growth of less then desirable chat ingame worse it has been with founder tags next to there names. There is another problem it is bleeding into the forums as well. Insted of well thought out replies to threds you get poo. Not exactly helpfull to anyone.

They take reports seriously and do follow them up. You should also take a screenshot to back it up and remind you of the correct spelling of the players name.

Actualy at the time i started this thread a lot of complaint, and question threads where about on how to report issues in game, this thread still has a reason to exist, as long as players need to know the correct response, and handling of said behaviour.

The issues in MWO may be minor conpared to other MMO,s but its still emotional abuse that no one, no matter who they are deserve to go through.

Just report them and walk away folks, PGI should, and need to have dedicated people tracking these kinds of issues down, and from what i have seen in the past few months they do action these problems fast...

Sadly this sort of thing happens in most online games, mainly from players who really do not give a crap about what they are playing or who they are shooting.
Report and/or ignore them.

Most will get bored a go away, with the remaining likely to see less when match making fixed. As hoping they will group all the kids, adults acting like kids, players with an IQ lower then a glass of water and players not interesting in playing in a match by them self.

Thankfully I totally passed on that game, and Tabula Rasa, and Warhammer, and SWOTR.

I was not lucky with Earth and Beyond though and I bought it a month before EA closed it down. I've never bought an EA game since.

If you take offense to text abuse or spam in an online game chances are this is your first online game ever and your skin is way too thin to be on the internet at all.

What are you considering spam?

Friendly chatter back n forth?

Repeated words and literal spamming / flooding the chat box?

Advertising recruitment?

Just wondering... I am not agreeing or disagreeing but before the start of every game I type "GL GH from Hells Black Aces! www.HellsBlackAces.com We are Recruiting!"

We've picked up some really good players that way. I would hardly call it spamming and maybe 1% have found it offensive, but most often we get some sort of reply like "GL GH from Team ABC!" and so forth. A very rare occasion someone says "%^&% YOU! Nobody is interested!!" or something along those lines.

I have no idea, but we're having less people here in the forums.
Also, this week I got some failures when joining PUG games.

Im more annoyed by raven kiddies pretending exploiting lag shield is skill

Sitting in a atlas watching this guy magically teleport around me, while my large lasers do no damage to the target (even when it is standing still), after I die, I get "sad, such a baddie"

Cause it takes skill to abuse the netcode
