Last night i was playing with a group of my merc corp buddies(DHB). I was running the only scout on frozen colony and we spawned on the low side so i took the cave. Poked my head out of mid cave, and gave my team position reports on what i saw. However i also spotted a streak cat so i ducked back into the cave and made for the rear exit.

AS i exited the rear cave exit i find myself almost point blank with a gauss kitty. I quickly engage my JJ's and try to get away but his first shot found my legs and blew one completely off. At this point i know i am screwed so I report to my team that i am combat ineffective, and that i will tie up the k2 as long as i can.

I use my jj's(thank god i didnt strip them) to hop over a building and proceed to circle around it with the k2 on the other side. Looking at my speed i knew that even the worst outfitted k2 would be able to catch me eventually, so i jump jetted on top of the rather short building and started shooting with my streak and 4 smalls. THis went on for about 4 minutes till i screwed up and got caught in the open with the k2 only 100 meters away. I knew this was the end so I unleashed everything i could into his CT structure. I got him dark red but overheated before i could kill him. I watched him center his guns on me from while my mech was shutdown and readied myself for the coup de grace that was about to get laid on me. Suddenly i see a lrm volley hit and finish off the CT of the k2. I finally powered back up thanked god and my team mate for saving my butt, and limped on to there cap.

It just goes to show you no matter how damaged you are dont ever give up.

Many great moments in battle but a few stand out. The most recent being last night during a fight I was in my Atlas push the front of a very chaotic battle. Our team decided on Caustic to split up the sides of the caldera with the scouts harassing their back line. Things where going decently until the enemy withdrew to focus on the scouts, we made a mad rush to save our isolated light mechs.

As my lance of four rounded our side of the caldera things went to hell fast. Our LRMers got caught by an enemy Atlas Brawler while I got to deal with their LRM boats by myself. Speaking on comms we got to draw the Atlas to the center of the caldera while I charged up to a LRM Cat. Our LRM boats managed to escape and rejoin the other flank in the enemy proper. As I managed to kill the first of their LRM cats (after sustaining a good bit of damage) I spotted the enemy Atlas trotting down on our flank again.

Getting a solid lock at around 500mm I unleashed a few volleys of LRMS to grab his attention, which worked but unfortunately for him it managed to strip most of his already damaged torso to internals. I lined up my two large lasers and fired dead center. He must have been cored while stepping down in elevation cause he did a sort of Superman "UP UP AND AWAY" leap when he exploded, launching him a good bit into the air before crashing down.

I spent the rest of the match laughing at the sheer ridiculousness.

I was on River City in a Centurion. I'd been in some heavy fighting and my Ac/10 had been blown off. Critically damaged and about to overheat I pulled around a hill to avoid LRMs and found my self face to face with an Atlas. Hoping to damage him I fire my two chest mounted medium lasers. Some how they found his cockpit and killed him. We went on to win the match easily.

Had two games in the past couple days that came down to the wire and were pretty awesome.

Game 1: On Caustic, I go play scout as usual, then head for cap to distract the enemy. Once a few of them come running back, I head back into the fight. Eventually, the game is down to 7-7, me in my Jenner, and an enemy in a trial Awesome. He's standing on his base, so I can't win by cap. And he still has a decent amount of armor. There's just over a minute left, I keep circling and blasting away, he returns the favor but hits far less than I do (which is good, because I'm mostly out of armor). We get down to under 30s left, and there's no way I'll finish him off in that time, though I do keep trying. End result: tie.

Game 2: My favorite game so far. On Frozen, I manage to draw several of them back to their base while capping, then run back out to help pick off some of the rest. We end up 6-6, myself and another Jenner pilot vs. 2 Atlases, who are standing on their base. We do some impressive hit and running, but ultimately we both go down. Still, it was a great fight at the end.

Destroyed atlas doing backflips. Couldn't stop laughing at that for a good few minutes.

Just played a hard fought game with a mix of PUG/Premade (on both sides). We had them on the ropes for a while with two quick kills early on which ended up stalemating.

Saw a teammate in trouble (behind cover) and went in to help. Ended up stumbling into two enemy Atlases and an Trial Awesome a little bit back.

Tossed a couple of shots at them and tried running. They managed to get beads and I dodged for a while. Ended up going 1-one-1 with the Trial Awesome in my beat up mech while the LRM rain came down.

Lost my right torso (was driving a huncie) so I was pretty much done and couldn't contribute as the rest was trashed as well.

Scrambled to type:

"SURRENDER!"

"Powering down!"

Took a few more hits and the Trial Awesome had me lined up dead to rights, couldn't have taken another hit. Thought I'd give it one more shot.

Hit the 'P' button and shut down the mech with a final.

"Nungunz surrenders!"

Awesome stuck around to see if I would start back up and didn't take any shots...either it was a vet playing around with trial mechs, or a newbie as part of the clan and was told to/decided to leave me be.

Stayed powered down except to turn on one to avoid AFKing. At this point I couldn't even have helped cap with how wrecked the mech was.

Rest of the team still managed to get kills, but they had us down to where I was the only one alive.

Enemy team went and capped.

Forget who was all on both teams, but thanks for a great game! And thanks for respecting the rules of engagement!

The other night I was playing with 2 friends on forest, we started on the side with the HPG dish. We went up to our cave entrance, and most of the team followed. As the enemy team pushed us on our flank on the map's center we decided to charge cave (a friendly dragon had already proven it was clear.)

I was in a pretty teched up HBK-4J stacking medium lasers and SSRMs, and my friend Tauman was up front in a large laser boat AWS-8M. We came out the other end of the tunnel into a couple mechs' flanks and decided to just go straight past to the cap, which is where the real fun began. Sadly the third of our group got cornered and couldn't make it up to cap with us.

The enemy team saw us and/or the cap warning that followed and charged to meet us. The rest of our team was dead or soon to be. They filtered into what became a clusterf--- of a brawl. Though they didn't form up first we were still facing 2-4 at a time for most of it. Tauman in the awesome was the obvious target and did a great job staying alive and dishing out damage. We worked together and naturally the first target or two we focused went down relatively fast. But there was at least one enemy assault in the mix and their sheer numbers really brought the hurt on us. Eventually Tauman fell (I believe to an enemy awesome) after we had killed 4 of them. I was nearly dead myself, but in a final joust or two I was able to get all my lasers on CT, killing him shortly before I died.

We fell, but what an amazing fight. And the funny thing was that for his work Tauman didn't get 1 of the killing blows. All credit to him though for a great job, the ending screen is linked below and it's no coincidence that his assists match my kills. A fine "gg" to the other team too, it was not an easy fight.

Going 1 vs 5 and winning, and everyone being pissed because I'm in a streakcat. I just told you a story in one sentence, was it entertaining?

easy.. during closed beta, noticed I was the only non atlas and said - WTF!!!!

I was running a commando, the group commander announces they are a pug, and asked me just to take up the rear and sit tight... so, I did.. and through the game scored 4 kills.

towards the end, we were closing on the enemy base, and a pair of enemy catas got into our base, took down the rear gaurd, and started capping.. main force to far away from either base to win by cap.. commander asked me if I was comfortable (didnt order) rushing them and trying to take them on to give the team time to get to enemy base..

off I go!!!

I actually took down one cata (was already mortally wounded so wasnt that hard really) and lasted for a couple minutes against the other, all the while my team is taunting the enemy, and giving me tips on my playstyle, and really supporting my efforts. Lots of "great shot" and "slow down a bit, youll turn tighter" and "whoa! watch that heat, you overheat we ALL lose!!!" Definately stressful lol but -----. We win!!!

The commander asked me to join them as their scout from then on.. unfortunately, I didnt really pay attention to names, and didnt get the website info copied fast enough from chat before the I win screen....

AND WE HAVE NO GLOBAL CHAT!!!

GRRRRRRR

epic game, I felt great, was treated like a true champ and had the chance to save the day. What a great way to end my first week of closed beta.. Wish I would have been able to captuer their names.. what a great way to treat a new (to mwo) player...

Hehe! Closed BETA in my endo steel, FF, dhs Cicida, running around and spotting targets for my while taking pot shots at the targets with my Ac5, and large laser. They must have been veterans because they managed to down everyone but me in short order. After dancing circles around them for 2 minutes my team was screaming Die All Ready. So I disengaged and hid broadcasting I surrender. They capped and won but dam that was fun. (I still want my Dire Wolf)

Last night the DMH and friends were running 8 strong and we went to drop... and all of a sudden when we dropped in match it was just myself and another pilot vs. 8 on the other side. (I'm in an 4 lrm 2 ml cat and he is in a max speed jenner) We are in the high side of Frozen City

The other team quickly started offering condolences via chat and I ask my teammate "Do you want to run or stand?"

he replies "Let's fight"

I say okay "we kill at least 2 and survive, that should be enough of a challenge."

So we start dancing in the buildings and in come the enemy scout after a spirited chase we bag both of their fast movers as the rest of their force is closing, we briefly engage a third mech with their force bearing down on us we started dodging through the city jinking lasers and ordinance... it was a roller coaster ride but we survived to see them cap.... and declared victory.

Holy damn.

I think I just PUG'D into PRE-MADE vs. PRE-MADE in River City,

The first team declared and started talking (friendly) trash... y'know the regular "bow down before us" machismo.

Then my team went: "Defend left. They like going that way."

3 of us broke left, while the rest went right and pushed straight to the base.

We ran circles around the Atlas and Dragon that was pushing left (through the main city) while the right lance capped.

We won 3 - 1, capture. Frickin' hilarious after all the trash talk.

Wish I remembered who they were...
