Jack gently moved Heather's head from side to side, and gently brushed a calloused thumb over the bruise, nodded in satisfaction as she flinched slightly, but didn't cry out. "Looks like ye had a proper doc sort you out. That's looking a lot better than most of the bruises ah ever took." He was grinning despite himself. "A big stomper huh? Sounds like a Snake if it was sporting a Dragon. Red one? All curled up in a big red circle?" He held his hands up in an attempt at a circle, shaking his head and abandoning it swiftly. He'd hated being patronized like that as a child. Curiousity began to get the better of him - he couldn't think of any big mechs that she'd be thinking of - not with missiles in the arm. "What did the big mech look like? Other than the arms I mean."

Heather’s excitement peaked again. “It was big! It had big round shoulders, and plates either side of its head, and two radio sticks behind its cockpit.”
She frowned in thought. “It looked sort of like a Thug, but its legs were the right way around, and it didn’t have hands, just a big rocket drum on this side and its left arm ended in a cannon, like this,” she held her left hand up, first two fingers held out together like a gun, and pretended to shoot Jack with them. “Pew!”

Truth be told, the Capellan was relieved when she said she fell, as opposed to her father beating her.
"Zeus?" DeMarkus offered, he was no expert on Combine or Commonwealth mechs. Especially when the discription was coming from a six year old. He shrugged then started to clean up the kitchenette.

"Zeus." Jack agreed. "That wasn't here was it Heather?" DeMarkus paused his cleaning as Jack eyed him out the corner of his eye. He knew what they were both thinking, if not the precise wording. She got an assault for this heap that's not even fought a single battle yet?

Heather nodded. “Yep. Here. Where Daddy keeps his mech. And it had a big dragon curled up on side, from the knee to the shoulder.”
She looked up at Jack. “Can you put Captain Zed on the vid? Dad keeps saying we can watch it, but he never has time.”

Jack looked up at DeMarkus again. Great, a Hero Capellan, and a Drac with a Zeus. This'll end sooo well. "DeMarkus, you know what in the 6 Houses Captain Zed is?"

Jack looked blankly at the other mechwarrior for a second before inspiration struck. "Hey Heather, do ye know what channel the cartoon channel is? Ah'll show you how to get the vidcaster working and ye can set it to the channel yerself, how aboot that?"

She had no real idea how late it was when she woke up, but she shure as hell knew it was loud enough to blast eardrumms. It was unclear to her from where all that noise came but she didn´t care. It was far to loud to sleep and by the time it went silent again, she was allready awake, so she decided to get working.
Noone was arount and she didn´t know where Rick went so she decided to give it a go alone, though it was hard wok and not particularly easy it still had to be done. She needed to get out on the fields and , more importantly, to get out roaming the city for a good bar.

Von Bremen looked about nervously, taking in the still lingering film crews and the abnormally large stable grunts doing their best to herd the press and film crews out the door. The paranoid thought that there were too many ears and eyes there suddenly struck him.
"Ah yes, Izzy. Please follow me." Randolph said then led the duo off to an empty ajoining room which was currently being used as a storage room. The PR rep looked about at the stacks of folding chairs and tables leaning up against one wall, along another stacks of boxes mostly obscured the wall.
"Looks like this will have to do." He spoke himself. He then quickly went over to the wall and with (or without) Bertie's help, set up three chairs and one of the large rectanuglar tables.
"I'm truely sorry for the lack of preperations, it's been an eventfull week." He smiled sadly at the two. "Umm, can I offer either of you some refreshments, coffee, tea?" He waited patiently for their answers before summoning Cassandra to go fetch their desired drinks (If any.)
The tall blond man then folded his well manicured and jeweled hands before him on the table and became all buisness.
"So Miss. Izzy, I understand you've come here seeking to join our young Stable. May I ask why you've desided on Rainbow Stables?"
Von Bremen sat there listening to her reponse but was mentally reciting the rest of the questions he had memorized for interviews, even short impropt ones like this.
What do you have to offer Rainbow Stables? What qualifications do you have? What can we do to make you feel at home here? From what Successor State do you hail? What are your views on the other Successor States? Are you a team player? Do you have your own mech or are you among the ranks of the dispossessed?

Fredrick yawned as he strode out into the dorm rooms common area. He took in the humorous spectacle of the big bearded mechwarrior stood near Heather trying to work the remote to the vid player. He patted Heather ontop of her head as he wordlessly made his way to the kitchenetter dragging his bunny slippered feet the whole way. He glanced over at Scarface and nodded a greeting.
"What's up fellas?"
He ingnored Scarface as he and Grizzly Adams exchanged glances and unspoken communications with one another, instead filling up a glass with the orange juice. He then headed back to his room only stopping long enough to pat Heather atop the head again.

Izzy followed Von Bremen to the table, asking for a soda before beginnnig.
"Well...these stables were relatively close to where I am staying."
She sighs, taking a drink. "As for what i have to offer, a fresh face, a bit of fighting experience. My qualifications are merc jobs around the Periphery. As for making me feel at home, a decent place to stay that I don't have to pay for would be great. As for my successor state...wherever Halcyon is I guess? I buried such memories when I left. Bad blood...Uh, and I'm pretty nuetral to all but Kurita, who I like." She pauses at the question about being a team player. "Yeah. I'm a team player. I'm quiet and distant, but I can work with people. And yes, I have a 'mech. A Sentinel I call Keyhole."
She smiles slightly. "PPC triple heatsink variety."

"Ah, thank you Cassandra." Von Bremen smiled as Cassandra arrived with a small tray with refreshments upon it. Randolph folded his hands upon the table and patiently watched as the raven haired beauty opened a can of psi-cola and poured it into a iced over glass and set it before Izzy. As for himself he ordered an exotic red tea shipped all the way from Terra. Sipping his tea he listened as Izzy replied to his questions.
"Merc jobs around the periphery, so pirate hunting?" He asked for clarification, while memorizing the name of the backwater planet she hailed from.
He nodded approvingly as she recited off her experiences and qualifications.
"Sentinel? That's classified as a medium mech correct?" He asked both Bertie and the applicant, whom he was starting to like. A fresh face was something difineatly needed after the last couple of days.
"You know I'll have to verify all this and pass it through my superior, but I think it's safe to say that we have a spot here for you. Here you'll have your own dormitory type room which you'll be sharing with 3 other warriors, but at the moment there's only one warrior in the dorm. You'll recieve an average wage, plus storage for your Sentinel. We have technicians here, but everything is prioritized by arena experience and fight schedules, so you may want to hire on your own tech. Oh, we offer the service of a grocer who comes out and drops off whatever desired groceries you may want." He looked at Berie's confused look. "We just started that service. There were too many incidents happening off of the campus."
Von Bremen then leaned back folded his hands in his lap.
"Do you have any questions or concerns?" He asked.

Izzy actually fully smiled now. "Yeah, one. Any problems with me having another job at the current time?" She asked. She tactfully avoided saying it involved dancing. Doubted they'd like to know the girl in front of them showed her body off for cash.
"As for the dorm, it'll do. Means I don't have to lose money. And groceries? Sounds good."
She paused. "My only other concern is...co-ed, or are the genders divided in dorms?"

"I don't see any problem with you having a second job, as long as it doesn't interfere with your obligations here. And you'll have an excort whenever you leave the campus." He leaned in close and whispered. "Safety concerns."
He didn't let out that there were a string of murders, no, 'accidents.' and attempts on her soon-to-be dormmates life. He then leaned back again.
"To be honest, you're the first woman warrior. So I'll leave the choice to you, what do you feel more comfortable with? you could always share a dorm with Mr. Walker's daughter, Heather." Von Bremen smiled as Bertie cast a withering look his way.
Sorry buddy, didn't mean to c0ckblock you...

Bertie scowled at Von Bremen. Sure, Heather had traveled extensively with him across the Sphere, sometimes with some fairly undesirable characters, but at least she’d been close. The thought of her bunking in a different dorm with a complete stranger was...unsettling.
Still, this Izzy seemed unassuming enough. Maybe it would help to have a softer, feminine influence in Heather’s life. At least she wasn't Capellan.

Izzy nodded. "I like kids. They don't backstab, try and backstab, sleep with you and then try and backstap, or do anything negative towards you with the word stab." She stopped. "Sorry. Not an easy life since I left Halcyon..." she looks at Bertie. "My apologies for the burst of negativity...just been...screwed over a bit since I lost...my best friend." She clutched the locket. "And no, my other job won't be in the way, but I'd prefer it if my...escort...knows the meaning of the word discreet. I like my private life." She finishes her soda. "Those arrangements sound good Mister Von Bremen."

Jack finally succeeded in getting the vidcaster to show Captain McJobbiePants or whatever the twit was called. Heading back to the kitchenette, he saw DeMarkus was looking off after the new guy in amusement.
"Yon damn 'caster has over a thousand channels. At least. Four digits to type in to get the channel ye want. Four! And they had over 200 kids channels in the guide...Is this what civilization is supposed to be like?" Jack grumbled, still trying to keep his accent clear. "An' was it just me or was our other friend a bit pissed? That her da'?"
