I'm in. Consider Kunaizel on the board in it too, unless something comes up.

So interested. These kind of events should tide us over while the devs work on the comunity warfare. Count me in.

Has there been a trial catapult yet? Just wondering....

But his point is still valid even if you keep tossing flippant answers at it.

If 'the rules are simple' then why are there refs? MWO has no "rules" beyond what the game engine allows or disallows. Will this tournament be imposing additional rules? If so, what are they? If not, then why are we taking a drop spot with refs?

Now, hopefully, you can see where a comment like "I'm confused about refs" comes from. There is something to be confused about to some number of the pilots and saying there is nothing confusing is not helping clear anything up.

Instead of having just straight up battles we may place some scenarios in there, maybe the battle starts with a duel or somesuch, winner of that duel is then able to join his team< These things are still being planned (we want to spice things up a bit). Groups volunteer one of their number to duel.

Also, to get some cool coverage of say the semi finals upwards those ref mechs will also be recording so we can give you the community some nice footage. We can't start off with 8 man teams and suddenly go to 7. This way we give you the battle from both teams perspective.

Also, depending on how the matchmaker behaves weight limits will be removed. We also have to make sure people aren't cheating by kitting out their own variants to look like trials. As well as getting both teams equal.

The idea is to make the 1st fun and enjoyable for all skill levels.

If it proves a popular idea, the 2nd will probably open up to full teams to enter.

Nice idea - I'm certainly interested; And I recall that thread Lucy..

I think this would be a good event for a number of reasons that go beyond "just" community-building, so timezones notwithstanding, sign me up.

I'd also be willing to ref for a few UK/Euro matches if needed, assuming most of the Mod population are US/Canada based..

How is matchmaking going to work in this tournament? It looks like we wont be able to drop against a specific team the same way we can make it happen now.

Sounds great as long as there are time slots friendly to Australian times.

This is a trial only mech event first of all. Refs will ensure that everyone is in a trial mech and match limits are met as there are prizes involved.

This thread is not the place to spam for clarification. Please use PM's for that.

Will it also run in the AEST time zone?

This.

What timezone will the games be run in? I'm not sure work will be best pleased if I take time off for MWO :)
