Hey guys, I was looking at the sheer number of threads with people making new machines to handle MW:O, and I started to get worried. My worries stem from the fact that I use a laptop for all my computing needs.

I own a Sony Viao F-Series laptop.
- 8GB RAM
- NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M (1GB VRAM)
- i7-2930QM CPU

I haven't had much trouble playing MW:LL, but I don't believe that uses CryEngine 3, but an older engine. I could be wrong, as I'm a bit rusty on most of my tech knowledge.

Should I be worried about how well Mechwarrior: Online is going to run on this thing? What would I need to improve if so (yes I know you can't upgrade a laptop, but for reference when building a new PC if needed)?

System requirements haven't been released for MWO.

I don't think I'd be going out on a limb to say that machine will be able to run the game - although depending on some of the graphics settings it might not be at the highest settings with only a 540M.

You'll be fine, that i7 won't have a problem and if the GT 540M can handle MW:LL, it'll handle MWO.

This. Expect smooth low-medium graphics performance since it's running on a Crysis engine. In all honesty though, the performance for MWO will be more likely limited by internet speed first, graphics speed second... unless the devs are really good at optimising.

It IS a laptop remember...

but it should be able to run it well, My desktop is a 3.2 GHz x4 with 8 GB DDR2 RAM and an OC'd GTX460 and I run MWLL with no issues.

It'll run fine. If you don't already, check out getting a laptop cooling pad. They really help temps when gaming for extended periods of time on a laptop.

I actually just ordered one a few days ago, should be here in a few days. I got a Thermaltake Massive23 LX Notebook Cooler, hopefully it'll be as good as the reviews I've looked at say! My laptop doesn't like to stay cool at all, that's for sure. >_<
