I just thought, add a second set of trial mechs that changes daily. These mechs are the same variants as the normal trial mechs, but are just other players load outs, these would have to have a certain level of parts changes to be eligible for the trial slots, and there would be no bonus to the original maker of the mech design for others using it. The benifit of these mechs for new players is an enticement factor, showing what can be done with the chassis. A min max built mech would play completely differently than a standard built one afterall, and a new player would be interested in how much the mech has changed since the stock version and is more likely to go out of his way to get a mech of his own.
Like say this was implemented and we had the hunch-4j still, someone may have given it 2 srm 6 and 2 large lasers in the side torso, with the rest of the lasers being small lasers. and upgraded it to double heatsinks, endo, and a 250 standard engine. If we had the k2 as a trial again, youd see trial guasscats one day, trial ac/20 cats another, and maybe a k3 or large laser cat the next. It would also give experienced players which don't have time to experiment with new builds or don't have those mechs to try other peoples builds on occasion.
