I really need to get on revamping my excel sheets so they can handle all the bizarre implementations PGI might come up with for heat sinks and double heat sinks...

Like Double in engine and 1.4 outside of engine?

Argh. I could already see it coming.
I'd like to point out more people are now using PPCs... When we have Double Heat Sinks at least in the engines implemented "correctly"... And my charts point out that Gauss and PPC are almost equal in damage/weight efficiency under Double Heat Sinks... Get out your Double PPC + Gauss Atlas and enjoy your sniper and direct fire support duels.

I figure I could/should wait for next patch and maybe provide another balance analysis.
But in the meantime, I wrote a tool, or rather a spreadsheet, you can download yourself - read details here: http://mwomercs.com/...ncy-calculator/

A very nice tool. MustrumRidicully has outdone himself. Plugging various values into the spreadsheet confirmed a lot of things I was suspicious about, especially why seemingly superior weapon loadouts in fact do very little DPS after short time, while certain sustained fire builds pulverize enemies at 90m.

But I noticed that another poster did make something similar with far more features before me: 3rdworld made the Excel Mech Lab. Check it out.

I created a new thread in the Patch Feedback forum, containing a new analysis of the current state of the game (as of 2012/11/25).
http://mwomercs.com/...hs-with-graphs/
I managed to incorporate the new engine double heat sink rules, and now for the first time try to account generally for the "free" engine heat sinks. This makes a difference - at least with DHS, weapons get a bit closer in efficiency ratings.
The new methodology is explained in my new thread.
