Its nice you get exp in trial mechs now but you can't spend it is that intended?

I tried out the new Stalker F trial mech a few times and got enough exp to buy a basic skill but I can't they are all greyed out. Is that how its supposed to work?

The Xp is for when you eventually BUY a Mech with the money you are now earning.

Yes, once you buy a mech of your own you will be able to spend it I think.

I don't know but maybe that exp will transfer to the actual mech when you purchase it?

You have to own a mech to spend xp on it. Collect your xp and c-bills until you can afford to buy the mech. You'll be able to unlock a large number of proficiencies by then.

Yea they want you to spend money on this game....

If you just maxed out the weekly mechs without ever buying them you'd be way ahead.

Do yourself a favor and buy the mechs instead of grinding the trials. The trials seem to be purposefully setup to suck. LRM boats have 2-3 tons of ammunition, they never have AMS, they often have conflicting weapons (in terms of ranges), and they never have enough heat sinks.

You cannot spend EXP on pilot? That is independant of Mech. How moronic!

Yes, you have to buy that trial mech to use the xp.
