3 atlases. dhs upgrade for 3 * 1.5m = 4.5mil
3 atlases. going back to shs for 3 * 750k = 2.25mil
dhs at 1.4 means i've wasted 6.75mil

i could really use 6.75mil this early on in the game, that's a whole new mech chassis

since this is "for real" now, no more wipes, no more resets, i feel cheated

And this is exactly why I've waited for the DHS bug to be fixed first, before buying them.

i'm fully aware that i won't be getting the cbills back. i'm not asking for them back. even non-beta games get balance changes that make items players invested in awful. just venting, since the money it'll cost to convert them all back could mean i could stop playing my atlases and start working on another mech for mechxp

There are some mechs that DHS just dont make sense on, smaller mechs are also a problem as they take 3 slots and so you can't use the leg slots at all. THey either need to drop them to 2 slots or up the heat disapation..... at the moment they are barely worth it. When the engins also get DHS then they will make a huge diff straight out.

They make the most sense on light mechs, which have very little free tonnage, but lots of free critical space.

I suggest using this program in the future to avoid any waste of C-bills. It's what I use.

so....if you bought a car, paid for some upgrade (better engine lets say) don't like it and go back to the old one, then they "fix" the new engine, you can ask to get your money back from the shop doing the changes for you?

See - http://www.sarna.net...ouble_heat_sink
Summary: Inner Sphere (what we play) double heat sinks take up 3 slots. Clan (what we don't play) take up 2 slots. Thought I'd point that out before somebody else picks up on it.

Got to say that a lot of legendary founders seem to have head up the arse viewpoint on key points in the balancing.

Well it's not like we can stop the mechanic from opening up our hood and removing 1/3 of our engine and call it fixed, can we?

using DHS when the engines were not functioning and a known bug since day 1 on 3 mechs, then being upset about the fix. Priceless.

They also dissipate 2 heat per cycle, not 1.4. Thought I'd point that out.

At 2 crit slots per heatsink, the MWO upgraded heat sinks would actually make some sense (lose 50% heatsink weight, but gain only 40% dissipation). Clan DHS could then simply be made more effective, retaining their size and weight.

The problem is that you shouldn't have to pay to switch back to an upgrade that you already owned.

THAT is what needs to be fixed.
