Since we know that there will be no in game voip, can anyone clearly define and backup with links or authority, the expectation of hot drops unit composition and how that is supposed to mesh at a unit level? After reading some post, it appears that we might get only mixed units, where its a random grouping of 12 mechs from different units against an opposition of the same.

While I'm certain there are tons of good lone wolves and merc units out there. I want (I know meaningless big picture), to run with members of our regiment, at least that's what I was under the impression we will be doing.

I am hoping for a quick slap to the face by Garth or Mason to say, "No you got it wrong, you can fight as a unit, 12 Rangers on the field" and I'd be happy with that. Would be even more happy with the a description of the method used for grouping each company before the mechs are dropped to the planet.

we just don't know yet, Hoping the Highlanders can drop as a unit as well. I imagine it will happen or they will have dropped the ball.

I have a thought...it looks like people are putting PGI on the chopping block for the lack of no VOIP, why not offer a player run teamspeak or vent server...as in, a few responsible players (forum moderators, ect) with server controls, and rent/buy a large stable server, and offer many rooms on it. The rooms would be divided by faction, and would at least allow faction players a chance at fighting merc units that are on a server. The cost would be much less than trying to quickly put a untested VOIP together, and yet could help level the playing field for "random team" players.

Funny you should mention that..... I could have sword the other day I was reading a forum Post about some Wascawwy dudes who do a great weekly Podcast where they talk about MWO, MWLL, and all things Battletech related.

I just know they mentioned having a huge TS3 setup with dozens upon dozens of channels for units to use.

Welp. I'll keep looking and hopefully it'll come to me. Sounds like a great idea! I just hope someone has the Guts to start something like that in our little corner of the Galaxy.

Cheers.
