PGI and IGP need to sit down and have an honest conversation.

1) 3rd Person View
2) Seismic Modules
3) ECM
4) Heat Scale Calculus

Do these things set your product apart from the plethora of FPS options out there? You have the rights to BattleTech and Mechwarrior and you are trying to turn this game into a vanilla FPS. This is insanity. There is absolutely no way you are going to compete with the likes of Titanfall and Planetside if you keep pushing this game towards the center for the masses.

As shown by the founder's program there is a healthy population out there with relatively deep pockets willing to give you money to build a shooter game that reasonably resembles the boardgame rules. I am not suggesting MWO needs to follow the board game rules rigidly but this game went downhill fast when you started to implement things outside the scope of the tried, true, and tested original.

Reverse course and take this game back a bit to where it was during the closed beta with the current fixes. The closed beta minus the bugs is a game I am happy to pay for. MWO in its current state is beaten hands down by free to play games on Steam.

Don't even stress community warfare right now. Hell, I'd be happy with private matches. A hardcore mode that is stock mechs only with NO modules. Make this game about BattleTech (not the current notion of a shooter derived from BattleTech) and the money will roll in. We've already demonstrated that.

Thanks.

Man! Forget about it. 3PV-players and X-box (looks like) - it's the new IGP/PGI's target. Hardcore players for them - minority who was cheated to give money for start, imho. Now we are useless to them as used comdom.

I was going to wait for the release to post again on these forums, but this thread seems to epitomize my least money-related gripe with this game.

The devs do need to sit down and ask themselves what sort of game they are intending to make, and what sort of audience they are appealing to.

Is this a mech sim set in a persistant world at war over strategic resources/positions?

Or is this counter-strike with worse gamemodes/matchmaking, mechs instead of infantry, and a grind-based acquisition of equipment?(That will only run decently on gaming PC's.)

It seemed from the PC gamer article and the direction of development in closed beta that this game was going to the former, but now it seems to have settled on the latter.

I would love for you to prove me wrong by releasing a fantastic set of changes to the game's problems and overall setup that makes it fun, and then relish an apology thread of mine for doubting you. However, all I see in the near future right now is a release in less than a month and no proof of any serious progress.

Either way, I'll wait for the launch to post a complete game review detailing my feedback on this game as a finished product.

PGi has been told who to market to, plain and simple. Now that the ball is rolling, there is no going back. This game will be just another addition to the pile of mediocre shooters out there.

Give your money to Star Citizen. At least when RSI says PC only they mean it.

I hope mwo can stay as independent online game like eve and other online games. MechWarrior has everything that any other online game has, and mechs on top. :) The battles in mwo before 3pv are tops in the industry I think. I have tried the others btw. Titanfall is a clone fps shooter by the looks of it. But I don't know much about it, could be entirely wrong.

#SAVEMWO should start looking at how much capital they can raise or support they can get for a kickstarter to buy out the developer.

You have posted this thread in the wrong place. Moving thread.

Wrong place? Upcoming Features (Discuss the future of MechWarrior® Online™) is the wrong place to talk about the direction of the game?

Feels like this thread was moved to the forum basement. I guess I should be thankful it wasn't deleted.

You did post it in the right area before. The Moderator just moved it to the wrong area - possibly on accident, or on purpose.
