People who think trial mechs are useless are just not using their mechs and weapons properly. I am running 3 Hunchie variations (to unlock skills) and only change to weapon load out I made was to remove the small laser on every one, added nothing offensive except more ammo on one. Glad to see people apreciating the stock loadouts instead of streak boating.

Hit it right on the head here. I personally hate the Dragon, just the way it feels and sounds really turn me off, but it is an excellent harasser in its primary configuration. So much of MechWarrior is using the 'Mech in the role it was built for and the standard loadouts tend to fit perfectly into that role if you know what you're doing. The only change I made from the standard variant of my Catapracht was to swap the LBX for a UAC-5 and buff the engine, ammo and armor a bit, makes an amazing frontline fighter. The Dragon, and I imagine most who dislike it miss this, is not meant to get stuck in on the frontline, but to flank (and if possible outmaneuver) other, lighter enemies.
