i've seen a few 0-2 and 1-3s that ended up coming back to win. for me personally it's once 0-4 hits then there's no comeback to be had barring "stealing" one via cap. even some 4-6s have come back one or twice in games i've been in.

was on the winning side recently where we were down 6-1 but no one on the other side ever came back to stop the jenner doing the cap across the map while the dying 6 delayed the other side to the point where even with whatever remaining mechs they had sitting on our base (or were too far away to get to our base on time- i was watching from the jenner ;) so couldn;t tell where they were at) they couldn't catch up.

have also seen some 7-1 at the times where the 1 side had multiple mechs under 40% but no one could manage the kill shots from team 7. so sometimes the slaughters aren't as slaughter-y as they look.

but i never give up even when i suddenly notice that somehow i'm the last one left against way too many for a mediocre-ly skilled pilot like me to survive. if i'm in a light i might go for a last show of defiance cap try, otherwise i fight til dead.

Never surrender, I once watched a lone Jenner tear up 5 mechs after everyone had died, I have seen atlases take 2-3 and even 4 mechs before they go down, and Gauss Cats, don't get me started. Use terrain, to block enemy shots, always keep moving, and never in a straight line, or in a predictable pattern. Pop out from behind a building take a shot, and then hide, but don't go back to the same place go to the other side of the building and take a shot, or to a different building all together.

To clarify, pretty much all of the matches where I powered down involved a 3 kills in about 4 minutes with the rest of the team meandering around the map and the enemy team in near pristine condition. There were no inspiring comebacks to be had.

Never be sure of what could have been.

There will never be an inspiring comeback unless you make it happen.

Yes, you. ;)

Interesting turn out. While I do factor in our team's coordination and enemy damage into account the fact of the matter is between noobs, regular *** hats who won't even text communicate, and the advent of suiciders I find myself only winning when God smiles upon my and bunches me with a premade. While the whole "hur dur no surrenda" mentality is cute and all, in terms of sheer pragmatism it makes no sense to exert such a wasteful effort when the odds are so hilariously stacked against me. While I'm sure this will change with time as the systems and the community both improve, as of I now I see no reason to arbitrarily cut into half of what little profit can be made from a loss.

the i haven't seen even a 0-2 comback just made me think that dude hasn't played very many matches. i"ve been down 0-4 manytimes and won 0-2 comebacks are easy since most of the time those first 2 were either scouts getting to close or a fast med or heavy getting blowed up buy lrm fire. Personally i live buy the "it isn't over till it's over" school of thought. This it's over before it even really starts thing just doesn't make since if you are in it to win um win or dye trying

I don't reckon it's any worse than the "Hurr, durr, me Donald 'Mech Trump, all about teh profitz, derp derp derp" mentality in what is still ultimately a game. In terms of sheer pragmatism, playing either way is wasting real time that could be used to make real money.

Maybe you should try EVE Online, where ingame revenue generation is a much more satisfying part of the game. If you're not playing in half the matches anyway, what possible use could you have for any of the weapons systems you could purchase with your carefully saved finances?

Generally, when my team has its collective head out of its ***, I shoot people with them.

I managed to kill 4 once and our team was 2 down.

When both teams finally reached 2 mech on each side, I had reached the enemy cap point but my weapons were disabled and out of ammo. And I was too critically damage to challenge a barely scratched Atlas. Much less survive the cap attempt.

I ran XD. The atlas did not give chase because he was pretty darn confident his team would win, as there was a heavy capping my base and there was only a single jenner left defending. The Jenner pilot had to fight in the box to prevent the enemy from capping us and he won. The game then time out and we won.

This one of the few games where I won via time out.

In hindsight, I was glad I ran, because if i stood my ground, the Atlas would have gutted my beer can and we had to salvage a draw.

you're kidding right...you don't actually power down do you? That's just being yellow...don't think you have a shot, at least go try and cap or just hang out in base hoping maybe the time will run down...

Seems like a good place to throw in the towel. 5 on 8 aren't really good odds, especially when your team doesn't seem to be competent enough to get a kill in return. When do you choose to power down?

Sorry but that is a dumb attitude.

Had an 8 man group (guildies) we dropped 2 CTD and I got the black screen so it was 5 against 8 and my side won by fighting.

I had nothing to do with the victory as I had to reboot game.

PGI needs to add the ability to rejoin a match when CTD's occur.

So much self-righteousness here.

Ya you sure are hard and tuff never giving up in your virtual mech. Some of us would rather have a game where you don't know how it's going to end from the start.
