Guys, let's be honest.

When dealing with the Free-to-Play model, if you're not paying, you're not contributing. While the F2P model has a TON of benefits, such as making the game accessible to those who otherwise could not afford a lump sum $60 payment, the fact of the matter remains that the game cannot exist without the financial contributions of a portion of the playerbase.

Therefore, I'm creating this thread to let players, paying players, to let the devs know what's important to them, to let them know what they want, and to remind them that we're still here as much as we always were, ready to throw our money at the next cool thing they bring us.

My own personal message to the devs: Look, we know you guys are understaffed and overworked. Please, take the time you need to, hire the people you need to, do whatever it takes within reason to give us and everyone a great game that could become a household (among gamers) game. I personally want to see this game reach eSport levels of popularity and excellence, the game already has what it takes to get there. Keep up the excellent work.

My pledges:
  • $10 - When JagerMech is implemented. I can't wait to put 4x AC/2s on this bad boy and let loose.
  • $10 - When Community Warfare is completely implemented.
  • $10 - Upon a successful release.
  • $10 - Bimonthly, following release, provided content and players keep rolling in.

Join in, everyone, and add your own! If you haven't spent money yet, add what would make you drop some cash!

No offense but someone pledged like $1,000 for a lobby like 2-3 months before open beta. That never happened. Dev's gonna do what Dev's gonna do basically.

Just to be constructive to your OP though I would pledge $10 for much larger maps, I mean like 3-4x as big as what we have now, with multiple objectives.

I paid 120 already. So I'm entitled for at least a years worth of complaining about poor game design.

Fair?

Then this game is a failure and nobody should waste anymore money on it. Dev's won't run this game, consumers do, as is business. If the devs don't like that then tough, game dies.

As for me:

$10 Axman N2
$10 Vulture

If you think I'm paying +$20 on a mech then in the time it took the clans to get here, you didn't re-adjust your MC values and the game has failed anyway.

I like the sentiment OP but this is NOT going to be very esports until MUCH later, it needs a LOT of work and that's not even taking into account what's implemented is competition friendly (ie recorded matches, steamcasts, etc).

We also can't expect to radically change the devs' workflow. While I agree, a lobby is a fairly important part of a team game, the devs' have now stated that they have about 6 months' worth of work ahead of them, and this shouldn't surprise anyone who's familiar with how coding of a project this big works. I understand that "pledge drives" may not be the most effective thing here, but I want to remind the devs and the rest of the community that the health of this community is better than most people seem to think it is.

I'll wait, then. If it's an end goal, I'll hold out for it. Time isn't an issue here. I'm already in on ground level. ;)

When I see more content to include:

1) Mek Frames
2) 3 Non-MC only varriants for each new Mek Frame
3) New Maps (2 would surface)
4) Public/Match Lobby
5) Robust Match Making

Then PGI can start getting more of my money and I am more then willing to provide fiscal support once we get something that isn't a marginally viable product. Realistically if this was a AAA title under the typical business model that had a initial unit cost and a monthly recurring subscription, those of us who already paid $120 gave the fiscal equivalent of a $60 Unit cost and 4 months of subscription at $15 a month and for that we got some in-game compensation.

TLDR: I gave to the office pool already.

It's not healthy though. It's half voicing concerns and wanting changes and trying to provide feedback as to why things need to change. The other half is pretty much content to whatever PGI ***** out their butts. I don't mean that to disrespect the developers, They are doing a good job of working. What are they working towards though?

So far they have been working towards monetizing everything and getting content that can be bought with real money, into the game. Maps, Game modes, Bug fixes for the maps, performance issue's, critical bugs that cause crashing etc... Basically things that are not purchased with money have taken a backseat. Instead of a map this last patch we got the YLW. It really should have been, instead of the YLW we got a map or a game mode.

Anytime someone say's "Hey you might be doing that wrong" people jump all over them. Discussions turn into rampant flame fests. Everyone knows more than everyone else. The community is pretty effing terrible TBH. People in this forum can't even discuss opposing opinions like adults.

honestly i think a lot of folks are just sitting on MC until Clan Mechs come out. That was the whole point of the invasion, introduce a whole new line of mechs that hobbiest had to shell out for.

Honestly, most forums I've seen are like this. F2P also tends to attract the freeloaders, and with that comes a BIG sense of entitlement. It makes things appear worse than they are. There have been a great number of well-thought out, constructive threads expressing less than popular opinions, and those get the respect they deserve. However, even if your points are right, if you throw them in an obscenity-laden, rambling, angry post, it's going to get sorted with the crap where it belongs.

I'm dropping more money on this game when we get our Ruggier vocals on board!

When I hear her voice, I'm going to play the match, immediately go to the MC page and give them monies.

I'll second (or maybe third/fourth) the Dev comments... It's not easy to do this and these guys don't have as many people working on it as a big company... They have been working late and taking work home with them... I do hope this game does well and makes some money so we can see it continuie and expand...
