It is alright and scientifically plausible that a around from an AC2-20 is not as fast as Light. Therefore it is acceptable that Lasers would register on their targets instantaneously while AC2-20 rounds would need time to travel to their targets. What is not acceptable is that there is a huge delay between the time you pull the trigger and the time the round leaves the barrel. I am sure the tech in Mechwarrior doesn't rely on old cannons and their fuse which did not fire until the spark traveled to the powder. Everything should be instantaneous. From the time you press the trigger the gun should fire immediately. Then you can scale the physics on how long it would take for the projectile to travel from the barrel to the target.

The devs know about it. I have heard that it is a problem with the net code and has proven to be more difficult to fix than they expected. It is much better now than it used to be. And they recently increased the projectile speeds of some of the ACs as well. They really are working on it, but they have a lot that they are working on right now. It can be difficult to have patience for this (I know it is for me, I love using ACs) but we really do need to give them some time.

Haven't noticed a delay when firing any of my AC-20. click mouse button gun fires.

Has been this way for 4 months, and the rest of their hit detection netcode is bogus. why is the projectile fire delay lumped on top of it?
