Hey, DaZur....do me a HUGE favor from now on please..... Please sign all of your future posts with DaZur (and BlackWidow). Really, it will save me a lot of typing. ;)

LOL!

Might want to be careful about being associating with me... I'm not always a popular fella in the forums and am also a LRM magnet in the field!

It's logic in every way. shape and form. +1

Too many people are posting out of emotion than logic.

The devs don't respect the players, so why defend them?

It's not that the devs don't respect the players, they just don't respect the crybabies and those who have a sense of entitlement.

I don't think that is entirely true. Yes, they have stated that they prefer to receive constructive comments and critiques over hyperbole and ultimatums. Anyone who has been in the gaming industry as long as PGI knows that internet forums are filled with many an angry young nerd that don't always post with decorum and respect, but know that this anger comes mostly from passion for the product and an almost complete lack of understanding of software development.

As such, I personally believe they have the ability to see the underlying issue that the rant is trying to focus on. This doesn't mean they don't take the attacks personally every time (the sheer volume of negativity could crush almost anyone, eventually) but try to take away the points and opinions being made and relegate the vitriol as nothing more than the ever present background noise that is the internet and online posting.

After all, even the negative nancies are (potential) customers. If they weren't....you wouldn't here from them at all. They would be in someone else's forum instead, badmouthing that game.

At least I hope.

I think you misunderstand me BlackWidow. I don't think that the devs refuse to listen to player input, despite what some might think, I just think that the devs don't respect those who complain about things endlessly. For example, I can take criticism from someone who I don't respect and still get something productive out of it, but I'm much more likely to react to a viewpoint if it's supported by someone who I respect and I'd imagine that the devs are the same way.

Simply put, a respectful attitude goes much farther in getting your point across and your ideas considered than the attitude many of the complainers on the forums have.

You know, with all of this respectfulness and agreement, someone's going to call us PGI fanbois. Either that or Rule 34 will be invoked somehow, but I really don't want to think about that.
